Dragon Age - The Stolen Throne sounded bad. A young prince and a warrior maiden - PROMISED TO HIM FROM BIRTH WTF? - lead the rebellion against the unjustly ruler who killed his mother.
But I'm starting to see redeeming qualities. At least it's a human drama. Probably bland, but still a human drama.
Compare to TES - The Novel where the latest in a long line of lost heirs to the throne joins a 17 year old girl (why the fuck did they have to specify she's a 17 year old girl?) so as to save the land from the EVIL VAMPIRE THREAT.

I never understood this pedophile theme of fantasy novels, where you have extremely young children in romantic and sensual situations.

Why do the knights and princesses have to be 14 year old kids who fall in love and marry at that age?

It's only pedophile if an adult takes advantage of a minor. Minor + minor has nothing to do with being pedophile.
And to your question two words: Target audience.

Oh, and now we're already bitching (and comparing) about books that aren't out yet, and even if they were nobody here would (admit to) read(ing)?
Wow, we're really cool.

This is THE new trend, guys. Writing books after really insipid games.

I wonder what's holding mr. Taylor to write Book Siege

Ray Liotta would play the role of Martin Septim.
And Jason Statham the hero.

I wonder if they can also fix in the Dungeon Siege plotline of having a humble protagonist turn out to be the son of the emperor...oh wait, it's already in there.

What about an adult author writing about child love?

That's central to every single Wilbur Smith novel: one or more pubescent girls fall for similarly aged boys or grown men. Page on page of disturbing metaphors cantered around "budding" and "moistness". The dirty old goat.

Dragon Age: the novel will suck more than Oblivion: the novel because Dragon Age: the novel will suck the most because the writer writing Dragon Age: the novel is a complete and total hack and Oblivion: the novel will suck the best because the writer writing Oblivion: the novel has won awards and, actually, quite rightfully so. I have faith that the writer for Oblivion: the novel will do a much better job than the writer for Dragon Age: the novel.

Since when is 17 an 'extremely young child'. That's almsot an adult, and and the vast majority of western civilizations perfectly legal for an 18 year to have sex with. You lose.

Piers Anthony seemed to do the same thing, but perhaps not to that kind of degree.

Foul old bastards.

Also, I'm going with Dragon Age being worse, because Bethesda has an actual author doing theirs.
