It seems that there is some kind of falsification of history going on. People's collective memories about the past has been methodically ereased every time the hype about the new game gets even more pristine. Some, who remember vagualy about the older games are just being refered to as a ''rabid oldschoolers'' or ''hardcore fans'' (the bad thing) like you would talk about some nutty hermit, who lives in the swamp.

What's next?
''There's new feature called ''NPCs'' in this game. These are peculiar in game characters similar to monsters, but with whom you can interact and even buy items from.''
''Also, check out the unorthodox ''stats and traits'' interface. As you progress along the narrative path you can rise your protagonist's skills''

Delighted public: WOW!

We're not laughing about the combat system being "uninnovative" we're laughing because it's being presented as something new and unique.

Precisely. It was just Dan Tudge being himself. Every time he's said anything about Dragon Age he talks in this dumbed-down disney bubbly way.

Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them...

Of course this is a computer game so it'll always be the latter.

How do I get the feeling that dragons in the game will be piss-easy if they present casting buffs pre-battle as a special strategy...

I couldn't get through to the article, where did he say it is a special strategy? From the quote:
opening said:
Some strategies that work well are things like buffing your party at the start of combat
work well = special ?

Anyway it should be tactics, not strategy teehee.

Man, I want a cRPG that isn't full of filler combat... but that would never sell. Imagine a game where enemies you faced in combat were actually NPCs rather than just mindless suicidal drones bent on have somebody die be it them or you. Imagine a game where enemies actually surrendered if it fit their character. Where you could knock out an enemy and take them prisoner to talk to them when they woke up. Imagine it! Because that's all you'll ever get to do!!!
What he said.

And with a big fake smile on his face. I suppose that goes hand in hand with the Disney style.

Thank God for Bioware, at least they still manage to make their games fresh and original. That buffing thing sounds awesome.

Why do people try to deny the mainstream audience isn't dominantly retarded?

Because hardcore morons are just as retarded if not more so. The biggest difference is the mainstream audience simply doesn't give a shit about the ahrdcore 'cause the hardcore are IRRELEVANT which makes the hardcore cry like little babies who need attention desperately or they'll poop their panties.

The only differences between the mainstream audience and the 'hardcore' is that the mainstream buys games they tend to enjoy while the ahrdcore will buy and play the mainstrema games that supposedly suck and the niche games that also suck.

Emphasis on the luck part, thanks to biowares history of shitty combat.
