Hate to be that guy but Bester is right, this game will be successful commercially speaking.

I don't think the budget for this game has been stated. How many copies would you consider a commercial success for this game?
My off-the-cuff guess would be at least 100M for development and another 50 for marketing. I'm going to assume this probably cost about 400 million for the whole thing, would not be surprised if it's higher.

What's different between this and Concord is that Concord saw the writing on the wall and didn't go all in for the marketing. EA thought it was worth the shot.

We'll see how it pays off for them.

About 100k players.
The game is going to be starfield all over again: a big fuss, but 1 week later it will die out and all the internet will discuss how mediocre and broken the game really is.

I'm a bit more bullish than most, think 200-300,000 is very possible 1st week. Reckon the sustain will be mediocre to poor afterwards. Seems to be thin gruel here regarding the actual gameplay and/or narrative elements for those outside the representation fetish crowd.

There is a zero percent chance of it ever making it's money back. This game has been a money pit for 10 years.

And there's no way this gets above 100,000 concurrent. The only time that happens is if a game has mainstream buzz and this game is getting trashed on by normal people.

You underestimate the amount of women in today's gaming community.

There will be enough players to consider it a success. The numbers will drop off quickly though because the audience doesn't play long-format games. They're there for the story and the romance.

So my prediction is ~20.000 peak with a drop down to 1000 concurrent after a month.

You guys are coping so hard... A lot of consumers and degenerates will play this garbage. :(. I voted 50-100K but sadly it will peak at 200K/300K.

I don't see Candy Crush Saga player base migrating en masse over to Veilguard. Transition from Bio/ware to Bio/were soon.
