lol my laptop can't boot the game, apparently its gpu isn't supported (gtx 1160 ti mobile)
I was musing today, "wait if the game is so CPU dependent, that would happen if I increased it's priority for the CPU ?"
so i booted up the game, opened the task manager, the details tab, found DD2, RMB click and set Priority to High
the game loads much faster and rarely drops bellow 30fps (haven't reached the city yet)
They didn't charge for that functionality in DD1. Having a shitty game without basic QoL features is one thing, but then adding said QoL features and charging micro-transactions for them is way deeper on the modern developer retardo-scale.
Anyway, I just went to the starting area again for some minor side quest, got another minor side quest, went to do that, found a cave I missed the first time, found a chimera inside, killed it, while there found a hidden passage with another cave behind it, found another miniboss, in a moment of clarity exploited its weakness to win the fight easily, followed the cave to the end, found an exit that put me on the other side of an impassible ravine, found another cave...
From devs should study this game before they try another open world game. Bethesda devs should not study this game. Why bother.
Just had the craziest battle against a Chimera. Me and company emerged from a cave trying to escort this elf dickhead and down below us from the ledge there it was fighting some random NPCs. I stayed up above and sniped it for a while. Our fighter went down and my fucking sorceress of all people picked him up and dragged him back into the cave away from the fight. I ran back in and revived him. The Chimera blocked the exit and it's goat head started raining hell down on us with spells. I kept trying to snipe the goat head but the lion was constantly ramming into the cave entrance and causing rocks to fall on my head. Pawns went down several times but eventually we killed it. What the actual fuck. Never had a fight against a Chimera like that before.
So when he going re-review MH World ? Also he straight up lied, calling the game bug ridden. The perfomance is trash , but the game it self is polished.
Bug ridden is too harsh but I've certainly hit a few quest breaking bugs (quest essential characters falling through the floor and having to kill and revive a character to get a cutscene to play for example). Normally this wouldn't be a big deal for the release of a big new RPG since bugs are expected, and it's not ruined my enjoyment of the game, but because the save system can mean that you're losing a few hours of progress instead of a few minutes if you have to reload an inn save I get why people would be less forgiving.
Yeah this is the greatest ARPG ever made. Dark Souls 2 has been surpassed. Can't believe what I just went through the past hour. Never seen anything like it.
Probably because this is identical to the original Dragon's Dogma, where some skills existed in multiple vocations (especially between Mage & Sorcerer), and any skill unlocked by a character in one vocation would be unlocked for all vocations where it existed.

There's no microtransaction for starting a new game, the option is currently missing from the main menu but you can just delete your save file manually.
There's only microtransactions for things you can acquire by normal means ingame anyway, like the consumable for editing your character or your main pawn.
They're not. People complained about it before and many wanted multiple character slots to be in DD2.
So of course the gook man doubles down and goes "know what, baka gaijin?! no new gamu optionu!"

I think the chimera has some sort of rage-mechanic. When it got down to its last legs it did the same thing for me, the goat just spray'n'praying spells all over. I ended up using a tome to silence it, but it mowed down the party pretty easily until I shut it up.

Yeah I charged into the fight expecting him to be a pushover. The Chimera never gave me much trouble in the first game. This MFer came dangerously close to wiping my party.
No clue. Your best bet is relying on support pawns until this shit is figured out. The way it's going it wouldn't surprise me if it's some kind of late game item that you use in NG+.
Also, did anyone here actually experience the Dragon's plague?
You have to raise an elf in Sacred Arbor that isn't Glyndwr or his family to max affinity. I just gave one a bouquet a day for four days until I hit max and then after talking to them again they gave me the tome.
My pawn suddenly has a scar.. looking it up as I was curious - it can happen from injuries and you need to wait it out or visit a hotspring? All things I saw were anecdotal. Another nice little detail.

I was bored so I decided to try it, despite normally being a hater of everything coming from Japs, and it's actually pretty fun. Idk what all the crying is all about, seems like a good game to me.
I felt the same way, but once you reach Battahl the magic stopped for me and the desire to explore every nook and cranny kind of went away. Or rather, I just wanted to make my way to the big city in it, and then unlock the remaining vocations. Problem is, the capital is on the opposite end of the area, so you basically go through half of it already before you get there. By the time I arrived, I set out to unlock the remaining vocations, and once I did that, I was already on the second to last quest of the main-story. At that point, the desire to finish and check out post-game beat the desire to being a completionist running around a barren desert looking for caves.
My exploration statistics, for what its worth. It doesn't help that Battahl is a lot more barren, not just in a visual sense, but in a location sense as well. Which makes sense, of course, a deserted wasteland of a country is less likely to have interesting vistas and lots of dungeons, but I surely was disappointed traveling across a vast amount of mountain sides and roads without finding a single cave on my way there. Volcanic Island is even worse, as it makes up about a fourth of the world map yet most of it is inaccessible. There's no tracker for completed quests sadly, it might give a bigger and better picture of how much I skipped.
Vast amounts of the map are empty and unaccessible, unfortunately.
Volcanic Island (the island in the bottom right) was a massive letdown. It's basically 2 escort quests, a giant lava river, and 2 towns with one of them (the one you start the game in) having zero content. The slave-driver didn't even recognize me or have anything to say about me returning. Here's to hoping I simply missed a lot in my first playthrough.
But, again I wish I could just go back to reload my old save to discover more, but once you finish the last quest, your experience is on railroads. There's no "point of no return" warning either, it's just one NPC telling you "you should rest at an inn", which I already did of course. Little did I know the game would no longer allow me to load from that save.
Never hired a pawn above my level, and I used 13 Ox carts total. I used 3 ferry-stones in all of the main quest. It's just not nearly as big a game as I initially thought, and that's totally fine. I think your ~70hour estimate is pretty spot-on if you set out to explore a lot more, I just didn't feel that desire.
All of that being said, I'm already playing again to check out what I missed, this time playing the game on Hardmode (Archer) instead of Games Journalism difficulty (Sorcerer). The game is very good, don't let anybody's criticisms (including my own) sour your experience.
There is none. From what I can tell, there is 2 port-crystals in the main game, Vernworth and Harve. And Battahl are hardcore Rift-haters, so there's none there whatsoever.
If there's no Ox-cart, you're shit out of luck, beyond finding your own port-crystals you drop, but they're incredibly rare (I know of 5, so far)
