Smash bros, they show logos of all Nintendo franchises except for fucking F-Zero. Also now with megaman.

Fuck this shit.

There won't be a Smash Bros. game that doesn't have Captain Falcon. They didn't show an Earthbound logo either, but you can bet Ness will be in the game.

edit: although I'm not disagreeing with the point you're making. I wish F-Zero were considered a marquee property for Nintendo, and F-Zero and GX are the only racers I've ever truly loved.

Killer Instinct, huh?
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/11/killer-instinct-is-a-fun-free-to-play-xbox-one-launch-game

Killer Instinct is a day-one digital-only release on Xbox One, and features -- get this -- one character. Jago is free to play on launch day. Everyone else -- unspecified returning characters as well as original fighters -- will cost money. Price is to-be-determined (of course).

What the actual fuck?

Nintendo isn't done yet.

Well, uh... I don't know.

Less confusing is this dev diary for Smash

I like what they did with Megaman and like the art's focus on primary colors. Good reason to use cel-shading too. Hopefully the loose basis of Samus on Other M won't extend to the Zero Suit, which was just terrible.

Yes, despite generating far more interest than Sony or MS, they are fucked. Sure...

There is a Wii U software showcase at 4 est, a wrap up video at 10 and the showfloor/press kits tomorrow.

I browsed his postings and he has a post praising skyrim, featuring a fucking bullet point list straight out of those adverts they used to have on the back of games covers (no idea if they still have this stuff). Maybe the codex should be thankful that it's interesting and big enough to consider invading it with marketers

EDIT: also this place seem to be big enough, I'm sure it's full of people who eventually succumb to the hype machine and buy some piece of shit overhyped vidya. I also remember reading some weepy ass bitch crying about people here being too mean to modern games (it was in GD). Maybe the marketers have a fighting chance after all

Grab the Codex by the pussy
Smash Bros. seems cool.

But that's from the standpoint that I need games to occasionally play with my sister, brother-in-law, and various friends who generally don't give a shit about video games. When you actually have multiple people in a room rather than being hunched over your screen in your dark little cave (and I do that plenty, don't get me wrong), games like Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are undeniably fun as fuck.

"I know! Who wants to watch me play Wasteland? Guys? Guys...?"

Generating more interest? From who??? I don't think that your interest means too much in this case.

Check the front game of general gaming forums. This thing has almost all the topics on their front pages AND they are active instead of just a handful of posts. Sony was pretty contained to a few threads last night.

Also: We're talking about it.

LOL, oh ninfags, ninfags never change.

I'm always an idort with systems from multiple companies, I'm just old enough to have seen the NINTENDO IS DOOMED cry a few dozen times before and really find it dull after the 15th time. It's a bit like "PC gaming is dead" in how often its utter and how often its true.

Now Microsoft is doomed I haven't seen a lot, if any, of it before now (only the the internet going crazy at "An ancient evil has awoken" last year), and any cries of Sony is doomed are in almost always in relation to the fact that Sony as a whole is in fact a piece of shit that is, in fact, doomed, so feel free to find them doomed.

And the Gamecube didn't doom them and the 3DS turned around. Sega had tons of shit on them before the Dreamcast failed (Stealth Saturn launch, SoA and SoJ hated eachother)

Also Sony is going to fucking hemorrhage money from having that price point.

Yeah. They have to sell at a loss considering the high BOM of DDR5 RAM. Wouldn't be surprised if they aren't around in a couple of years as a hardware division and are forced to port all PS4 games over to other systems, including PC. Like Sega.
They won't have to sell at a loss at all, they didn't spend shitloads on R&D and are basically using stock PC hardware: http://www.gamespot.com/news/sony-wont-incur-major-loss-from-selling-playstation-4-hardware-6408130
But the most important thing (and the reason why Xbone and WiiU are unreasonably expensive) is that they are only selling the game box alone and don't bundle it with a useless "Kinect" or "Touchscreen Controller" that nobody wants.

The 3DS turned around? Does it have more than five worthwhile non-Nintendo 64 games yet?

Yes.

I personally have Mario Kart 7 (bundled), Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, EO4 and Soul Hackers, plus Shin Megami Tensei 4 preordered for physical stuff. Digital has some nice gems like Crashmo and Crimson Shroud I've played personally and a few others I'm interested in when I've finished the games other stuff I own/pirated.

Plus I can't recall any N64 ports except OOT3D and Star Fox 3D.

I once gave up crack for a weekend to buy a Game Cube for the sole purpose of playing Gameboy Advance games on it. If the WiiU released a similar perhipheral for 3DS games, I'd probably consider buying it.

Nintendo is fucked, they were fucked from the moment they panicked about decreasing interest in Wii and especially their games (in decline since about 2008) with $500 million loss due to sales in 2012: http://www.polygon.com/gaming/2012/4/26/2975416/nintendo-earnings-loss and rushed out that piece of shit iPad Controller and it didn't gain any interest.
If they don't do anything soon they will go the way of SEGA: http://www.polygon.com/2013/4/24/4259328/nintendo-posts-loss-wii-u-sales-weaker

From their latest showings you can see that they apparently cannot into increasing development costs and schedules for "Next Gen hardware" since most of the games announced before were delayed by half a year to a year or so. Seeing as they solely survive on First-party-title nostalgia and have almost nil support outside of that, that is something they can't afford to risk.

Why not just get a 3DS then?

They get really cheep when you pay attention to sales (best I've seen, and how I got mine, was $160 for the XL with a bundled game and 30 dollar gift card thanks to getting Target to match a price error by Bestbuy.com)

Again, Sega had YEARS of problems before the Dreamcast (which, for its lifespan, actually sold a decent number of units). If Nintendo puts lots of money into TWO failed addons for the Wii U AND Nintendo's next console sells poorly AND their branches start in-fighting, THEN we can say Nintendo is going the way of Sega. The go the way of the Dreamcast thing pisses Sega fans off more than Nintendo ones.

Nintendo already turned the loss around (which was largely them having to convert the totals for all regions to a strong yen in the first place)

Nintendo was always great for kids. But you know how kids are these days.....snorting coke and doing shitz in da streets instead of just being normal and play SuperMario.

No kids --> No Nintendo.
