Geneforge 5:

Managed to get it registered without removing from inventory. Keygen not as easy to find as before.

Didnt manage to run it properly, bizarre slowness. Seems like vogel finally made the leap to buggy shit that needs to be patched after release.

So I run it with fast graphics on. Same deal.

I run it in DirectX mode, runs fine, no color hues for the game's models though. Fail.

I update my ATI drivers, now regular mode crashes at startup, and DirectX mode is the only one that runs.

Fuck you Jeff Vogel. Fuck you.

Been having a go at the demo. I like.
Worth having ago at the earlier games before this one? Or just fine to jump right in?

Edit: Btw, Vince, the Arcanum thread on ITS, is it ok if I post my opinion there? The thread has been dead for around half a year, so I wasn't sure whether I could chip in or not.
Sure, go ahead.

Playing the demo - it also runs unusually slowly for me (have dual core laptop with 1gb ram: IOW - game shouldn't be taxing it)

I dunno about the Geneforge series anymore and what I've played of the demo doesn't really inform me. How is G5 different from G1-4?

Did you even open the readme?
The Game Is Too Slow Or Doesn’t Look Right!

If Geneforge 5: Overthrow is too slow or the graphics don’t draw correctly (such as the title screen being all white), try the following steps:

1. Right after you run the game, select Run In Fast Graphics Mode on the Resolution window.

2. If Step 1 doesn’t help, try running the DirectX version. You can find this in the Start menu, in All Programs > Spiderweb Software > Geneforge 5. Don’t use the DirectX version unless the regular version doesn’t work.

3. If Step 2 doesn’t help, you can find more information at

http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/genefo ... hsupp.html.

Pirating an indie game, though, is just...ugh.
Of cource he pirates the game only because it's *shit* you know. If only one of all the games was any good - well then he would buy it for sure...

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
It's not stealing since nothing was physically removed from an inventory.

The game runs admittedly shitty on integrated graphics (which you probably have since you mentioned the CPU and RAM but excluded graphics somehow ;>). If the DX mode doesn't help, well, guess you're out of luck. Try hitting the SW forums.

And Fenril, the game is stable. I have experienced no crashes at all and haven't read any complaints about tech problems with *any* SW game. It isn't a copy protection scheme too, so you'd better say "fuck you" to your rig instead of JV.
