The thing is... this was an incredibly niche game, not sure who for.
For those loving roguelikes like ToME or CoQ or Cataclysm (or...), there's just not enough to it. It seems very casual in comparison.
For those loving older dungeon crawlers like EotB, etc. - same problems, seems very casual in comparison.
For those loving very simple, retro-looking dungeon crawlers, there are already others - none of which are great hits, either.
It can be as well done as possible (and I believe it is), but that is not a kind of game that will ever get much interest. Which someone should have told the poor guy beforehand
