Oh, I know Greyhawk is pretty generic ... it was actually the first campaign setting I ever bought (so admittedly there's a nostalgia factor there). Frankly, I'm just glad I'll be able to go through a game without having to hear about Elminster or Drizzt

True.

And Saint, GH and FR co-exist for a simple reason. Greyhawk is the creation of Gary Gygax, D&D's creator, and it was the first published campaign setting. However, for the release of 2nd Edition, TSR wanted something different, a new setting to showcase the system, but still something generic enough to not scare off those looking for generic fantasy stuff. Thus, they took Canadian librarian Ed Greenwood's setting and published it.

And now that "Forgotten" part is somewhat of a misnomer considering it seems to be the "flagship" setting.

Yeah, just like "Final" Fantasy.

Even the "X" in "Final" Fantasy X is a misnomer considering they're making Final Fantasy X 2 or whatever they're calling it.

That is because the people that play FF are too stupid to understand roman numerals above 10.

I forgot about FF X 2. It is the stupidest thing ever. No logical explanation comes to mind, so according to Occam's Razor triCritical is right.

It's FF X-2 because it's a continuation of FF X. It's the first time they revisit one of their worlds with another "rpg".
At least this is what I think because FF XI exists and FFXII is in the works IIRC.

See that's the problem with having a series of unrelated games. When it does come time to make a sequel to one of them, you've got to do weird stuff with numbering.

Then they lied, I thought it was suppose to be the final fantasy. I swear that stupid series went down hill right after the very first one.

But without it we wouldn't have 8-Bit Theater...

Beyond that, I've only played FF2 briefly and watched a friend play FF7. I wasn't too impressed with either.
