Peter Molineux is afraid that gamers will be pissed off as soon as he reveals some of the innovashuns Fable 3 is about to introduce. IGN UK ponders what <a href="http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/106/1067341p1.html">could be the cause. </a>
<br>
<br>
<p style="margin-left:50px;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;border-top-color:#ffffff;padding:5px;border-right-color:#bbbbbb;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-bottom-color:#bbbbbb;">Speaking to Gamereactor, Molyneux recently revealed, "We're making some announcements about Fable III and [...] it's going to really upset people. I'm really scared when I go out and tell people what it is they're going to get super pissed off." </p>

<p style="margin-left:50px;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;border-top-color:#ffffff;padding:5px;border-right-color:#bbbbbb;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-bottom-color:#bbbbbb;">Well, for a start, during the game's original Gamescom reveal, Molyneux spoke of finally jettisoning an "insidious, fundamental RPG mechanic."</p>
<br>
<br>
I hope he's not going to ditch farting, which became very dear to me.
<br>
So which RPG mechanic he's going to jettison?

Maybe it's reverse psychology. He wants to make sure you actually DON'T get pissed off. Molyneux is a clever beast.

I loved Fable. Fable 2 was a letdown, but still fun. I'm sure I'll enjoy Fable 3 for what it is too.

Another subtle plot to have a gimmick pass out as a daring innovation that required deep intellectual process? Molyneux is indeed a very courageous man.

Easy, i bet it will require the project natal hardware, not just support it . So release delay and you will have to spend a little more .

I stopped reading right there. This fucker never pushed for Fable II to be released on the PC, despite Fable being "rebooted" when The Lost Chapters was released on the PC. He's helped kill cRPGs in this manner, so I've refused to buy any of his products since. Micro$oft Natal? Yeah fuck that.

Maybe he's making it so your character gets worse as the game progresses.

That would go against his whole design ideal that anyone playing the game must feel awesome from start to finish, even if you just picked the controller for the first time.

Moo?
They're good for what they are, which is fine, but Peter keeps trying to make them sound like they're the next coming of the Spaghetti Monster or something.

He actually thought he needed to send out a pamphlet to reviewers to help them understand how to judge Fable II's awesomeness, because they may not have been able to comprehend its scope.

I wish he'd just shut up and make his games without the bonkers philosophy.

My bet is on taking away health bars. They already gave you infinite lives in Fable 2, so why go through the whole dieing and reviving thing anyway? Just put some temporary scars to show that the character got hit a few times while defeating opponents. Dieing, even a death with no penalties, is exactly the kind of thing he would call insidious.

An interesting note to take: Even on an IGN xbawkz site the comments are all about how Molyneux is dumbing down the RPG genre :lol:

You spend a lot of time as a king or queen in Fable so I'm guessing the game is going to be more RTS than RPG especially with Natal.

The fact that they're making a third installment of that piece of shit would piss me off.

...if I gave a damn :smug:

He's probably going to remove leveling. It would piss off the audience because

Maybe he will get rid of levelling-up? Of course, that has already been done *cough* Ultima IX *cough*.

Valid hypothesis, since he said he plans to have the player insert his own personality into the game (whatever that means).
