Fallout 3 is the new Postal 2.

Fallout 1 & 2 weren't banned anywhere, which proves that verisimilitude works, even when it offers the option of killing children. Also, this development shows how hyping violence only leads to loss of sales, as opposed to incorporating violence as part of the world.

Thank you Australia for slapping Bethseda's money-grubbing face!

Fallout 1 and 2 were censored in the UK. All children were replaced with a grown-up model.

My mistake. Still, it wasn't outright banning. This still proves Bethseda missed the point by hyping the 'mature' elements.[/quote]

In all Europe actually and children were not replaced but simply removed, you can actually fix this by simply adding the children files back to the games.

Of course it broke the tactical element of being careful not to hit children during gunfights in towns (for exemple you do not have to be mean to the little girl in the church of the Hub if you want her to leave before you attempt to kill Jain) but it also broke some quests (only in Fallout 2, no child is involved in a quest in Fallout 1) such as finding the missing boy or giving back the Richard Nixon doll.

Not true. The version of Fallout 1/2 bundled with what was the best selling PC gaming magazine here in Hungary about a decade ago most definitely included them.

By "Europe" I assume they mean Western Europe.

Eastern Europe doesn't seem to have that PC crap.

As long as it's not banned you are wrong.

When they showed a fakumentary about how evil Postal 2 was on a TV-channel in Sweden it increased the sales of the game by like 10 times until the stores stopped selling it for some reason.

Anyone know if Fallout 3 will be moddable, like Oblivion? Then it should hopefully be easy to make all NPCs killable.

It will be moddable, but it won't come with any modding tools. Time to fire up your hex editors.

Actually you are right, I should said Western Europe, at least I know the UK, French and German versions had the children removed.
