My experience with the demo. Cleared it with 3 different builds. I had a lot of fun playing. I enjoyed the first Gedonia quite a bit.

Before Update

- Point allocation spent in Strength (max) & Agility. Went with the peasant background story. Melee Spec
- Point allocation spent in Intelligence (max) & Charisma. Went with the nobleman background story. Dark Magic and Leadership spec.

Post Update

- Point allocation spent in Agility (max) & Strength. Went with the mysterious stranger background story. Archery spec.

Character Creation thoughts

- Height slider
- Female hip and titty slider
- More hair colours (black, blue, more blondes etc)
- Zoom in on character face for eye selection
- More eye colours (black, red etc)
- I quite like the background stories and would like to see more. Having unique starting equipment/companion etc is great.

Settings

- A mentally challenged difficulty setting for journalists
- Hide UI for pictures
- Seperate mouse smoothing from mouse acceleration
- Vsync as an option. On one of my pc's I needed to use nvidias vsync to reduce screen tearing
- A save button to save anywhere. As it stand now one must quit to menu and then the player position is reset, sometimes to a great distance.
- Option to turn off battle music.
- Option to turn off player grunts when jumping

Gameplay

- Powerful Strike feel solid and impactful.
- Kick feels great. Would love to see an unarmed spec for monk/bruiser gameplay.
- Appreciate the large inventory
- Dark Magic was my favorite of my specs.
- Looking forward to house building. Should be a bit more difficult that clearing out that npc's rats though.
- I enjoyed the zombie questline. I tried all the various outcomes. The ending with the serenade was terrific

- When the player character lands from a jump they stop briefly. It makes for a less than ideal gameplay feel. Jumping while moving without stopping would make it smoother.
- Two hand hit detection feels off. It needs to be extended slightly.
- When putting a torch on the hotbar then pressing the corresponding button, the player uses the eat animation and consumed the torch. In fairness, the torch does show up when sheating your weapon.
- The Warhorn ability doesn't use a horn but instead makes a tinkle sound with gold coloured hearts.
- The Skeletal Beast isn't a beast. It is a small skeleton that crawls around on the ground.
- The noblemans companion gets stuck, often. In the tower dungeon, they become stuck in doorways, unable to move even when using the regroup command.

Additional Thoughts

- Is a 1st person mode feasible?
- A seperate feminine running animation for female
- Skip dialgue for testing builds
- Less brown NPC's. Not every fantasy setting needs them.
- Town needs optimizing
- The voice actors for Ancelin the male zombie, Horwin, and Old Early are all good with the zombie standing out.

Pictures

There are numerous examples of this, where the written dialogue doesn't match the voiced dialogue.
Here the difference is "We're a small but unified community"

I moved this boulder and became stuck in the hole underneath. Unable to jump. When pushing the character against walls or in this case small inclines, the player is unable to jump.

In the courtyard, when removing this boulder, a mercenary helmet appears. The helmet, once looted, will then reappear as many times as you loot it.

Sequel doesn't dissapoint at all so far.

Things feel a bit more vertical now with all these alterantive routes you can take by utilising your attributes, stacking crates, placing ladders and stuff. Found a nice pair of pants that increases my jumping height which was of great help to my AGI 2 Lightning mage who doesn't know levitate yet.
Buggy of course but this was expected.

In particular i run into a bug where i couldn't stop casting my UNLIMITED POWER! Also couldn't switch my basic lightning spell for another mod.

In Gedonia 1 you needed to purchase and cast an elemental imbue ability in order to alter how your other abilities work, like casting an air imbue before casting a rise skeleton spell to summon a skeleton archer.
Here you spend skill points directly to acquire alternative modifications for your abilities which you can later switch back and forth at any time. Like, that same Powerful Strike can be turned into a stunning strike, a magical strike that scales with your destruction magic skill(ideal for magical warrior/death knight builds i presume) or turn it into a series of rapid strikes which works great if you're dual-wielding swords.

Dual-wielding now requires 3 STR and 3 AGI instead of being locked at the end of weapon master skill tree.
Also like some other changes to the attribute/skill system like how you no longer locked out of magic if your INT is low or how certain schools of magic are not tied to INT anymore, both of these schools were not avaliable in the demo sadly.
Anyway, :d1p: for me.

yeah I cant wait to use illusion on my rogue

Speaking of rogue, I wonder how useful double jump will be when you get easy access to hook in banditry tree.

its no longer just crafting with 2int, now there is also enchanting at 3int. Quite a big difference. For example previously you could go rogue with 4dex, 2int and 1str for leather armors. Now you will have to either go naked or forego max dex bonuses.
Then with 3int its weird if you dont utilize magic, like i liked to do.

Speaking of rogue in my tests I didnt find sneakery useful at all. Balance wise bleeding skill was way stronger and I could use it mid fights
