Well, the G5 is way faster than any pc...

well yeah but they cheated!!

The program they used to test was optimized for G5 while forcing Intel to use generic alternative; and the generic alternative is much slower!

Actually the third party tester used gcc for both platforms. Gcc is not generic and is well known to anybody who has any programming knowledge. The compiler wasn't optimised for the P4 but neither was it for the G5. IBM and apple have much better optimzed ones just like Intel has much better ones(Though Microsofts compiler is used far more than the Intel one). They used gcc on both platforms to normalize it so all in all they didn't really cheat. Also Arstechnia has a good article on this subject from an unbiased, knowledgeble person.

I remember this one article about the superiority of Macs, It was over Photoshop 7, which was (I think) touted as optimized for Windows XP or something, But using a Mac and PC provided by Apple, and using an image provided by Apple, the Mac nosed out the PC on a test devised by Apple. So You See it's clearly the better machine.

And of course in the by-line it said the auhor of the piece was a life-long Mac user

Why then the third party tester has admitted that Apple told them to optimize gcc for G5? Which they did

Why they forced P4 to use generic alternative?

Why P4 gets much smaller scores than it normally gets with gcc? P4 score was almost 600 points smaller than it should normally get
