Eh, they've been having giveaways for a while. There was even a feature called GOG connect that is sadly no longer supported where if you had a game on steam you can get it on GOG for free.
GOG have always been pretty generous to the community. Which is one of their strong points, really.

Would have been better if the random gifts were from your wishlist.

Yeah, most of the time it was one or two games that was completely random and were only available for a day or so. Usually it wasn't in your steam library, making the feature kind of useless most of the time. Still, free stuff is free, and it was nice to have. I think I did get some GOG versions out of it, but I don't remember what.

So this and 7.62 are wanna be knock offs of JA?
Brigade E5 was supposed to be an official JA2 successor, but old owner of JA IP messed up the deal and screwed developers over.
All that remains is the "Jagged" in the title.

Would have been better if the random gifts were from your wishlist.
they did that once, messed up, community went mad and they never did that again

How's the Konung franchise?
Nothig special tbh
Not bad (russian RPGs are pretty bad in most cases), not terrible... you can play it but surely there's something better availabe on the market or in the pile with old games

So, does it live up to the name at all? Seems like there are a lot more successors to JA these days, both official and unofficial, which makes me curious.

Also, is this Ascension to the Throne game any good? I have never heard of this game, which isn't common for the older stuff GOG picks up at this point.

It was only certain titles. I think the publisher/dev had to agree to it.

Regarding Brigade E5:
It's basically not playable, just don't.
I got it when I was young and it was just released, granted I could be just retardred but nonetheless I warn you, it's shit.

I mean sorta but it's the most jankies piece of game you ever experience. You might know term "slav jank" and this is the prime example. You must be starved for this kind of game to play this thing.

Better play sequel 762mm, then Marauder - Man of Prey, then 762 Hard Life (watch out - a lot of hidden mechanics and obscure things not explained in any way) and at the very end you can give a spin to Brigade E5 out of curiosity, if you like previous games enough to try it.

Your ignore list.
Shadow of Mordor is now available:

Also, someone mentioned in the forums that Amazon Prime would give away this game now in September, so it might be worth waiting a bit to see if it will be available for free.
