I haven't paid attention to this game at all, but last night I saw some video footage of it, and it had real time with pause combat. I was very confused

I checked it out of curiosity. I know it's an early access, but it's kinda painful.

Is the combat as bad as the people on the steam forums claim it is? There’s a large group of people who seem to hate it but I can’t really tell if they actually think it bad or they’re just mad its not pure action anymore.

This is the second flop they released ... probably because they are owned by Nacon which is actually Bigben Interactive - the greedy fuckers which destroyed The Sinking City.

These are all Nacon's subsidiaries:
  • Big Ant Studios - shovelware
  • Crea-ture Studios - didn't release a game yet
  • Cyanide - they are forced to release Tour de France, Pro Cycling Manager, Blood Bowl every year [Styx was released in 2017 under a different publisher]
  • Daedalic Entertainment - "In June 2023, Daedalic shuttered its development division, affecting 25 of its more than 90 employees". GG.
  • Eko Software - another shovelware studio, they release a Rugby and Handball game every year :)
  • Ishtar Games - The Last Spell
  • Kylotonn - WRC studio
  • Midgar Studio - Edge of Eternity
  • RaceWard Studio - some motorbike game
  • Spiders - in collapse
I think Spiders will get the axe. RIP indeed. I hope Jehanne will join Colantonio.

It's objectively the worst RTWP combat ever, try naming a game with worse looking RTWP combat. You wouldn't be able to. RTWP is not made for the kind of third person perspective they want and more importantly looks like shit with the kind of high fidelity they want.

Their best game is Mars: War Logs because it's their last game without wokeness.
Is this wokeness in a room with us?

No seriously, where was this terrible wokeness in Bound by Flame or Technomancer?
Technomancer was the first one with a gay romance so that is certainly pozzed.

Nothing objectionable at all about Bound by Flame, other than its exhausting combat.

I think War Logs is their best because it's the one with the least amount of tedium. :)
