How does monster agro work in GrimDawn? Is there any explaination? Is it just "Who makes the most damage"?
Simply put there is no actual agro system. Normal cannon fodder enemies will agro whoever they target first. Champion monsters will do the same, but there's a 50/50 chance that they'll switch agro you if you debuff them. If they do switch away from your pets and target you, they won't stop. Boss monsters are whatever. Just fuck my shit up or not. During Warden he erratically switched between me and my pets even if I stood there doing nothing. I forget what the monster was called, but the final boss of the new "roguelike" dungeon in Act 4 was nice enough to target my pets, but I tried to speed things up with Curse of Frailty, after which he relentlessly ran after me and never switched agro again.
Not true. If you get aggro if you run around a bit and let your pets smack them around a bit often the enemies will switch their focus back on your pets, get caught up in them, etc. It's not DPS aggro like in a MMO, though. Also, some pets have taunts as well so they can taunt enemies.
Almost everything dies quickly anyways between debuffing/buffing with devotion skills, etc. Damage is fanastic, and I'm in ultimate currently.
Do whatever works for you, for me the skills/tactics I describe work great though and I can clear areas very quickly.
See what I said above. There's no actual agro system and in all my 100+ hours that I've put into my pet characters I've never seen the AI switch back away from me to my pets unless it was a spaztic enemy to begin with who'd just go and whack whoever regardless of anything. Then there are the determined boss monsters who will never let you out of their sight once you enter their radar.
The Soldier has a skill that actually does Taunt enemies, but reports online have said that it doesn't work.
