Haven't played near the end, but that one soldier passive (and some of the devotion skills) struck me as making hardcore runs /very/ viable in this game. As long as you have the hp to avoid being one shot, getting a free reaction heal to full and the warning that you needed it is an excellent way to stay alive. Gonna have to fire this up again and give it a more serious try.

I just found 2 pieces of the legendary summoner set "Beastcaller's Regelia"s plans for my summoner. HURRAY!

I have all the pieces but one to craft them... Mark of Mogdrogen. Haven't seen it till now:negative: not even one piece...

Heres mine: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53791313/msvcp140.dll
Copy it to C:\Windows\System32 and see if it works. Please be aware that I can't take any responsibility if this fucks up something else on your computer.
Copying DLLs is a rather dirty way to fix problems. A clean reinstall of Grim Dawn with Steam would be the best solution as it should install the correct DLLs with the "first run setup".

Wife is out of town so of course I've been playing Grim Dawn the whole time. I started playing at 12PM and it's 4AM now. I need to go to sleep.

What is it that drives you to play this for 16 hours? I don't get it.

Autism.

Anyway, here's my current project that I started yesterday. DPS is pretty decent, although it doesn't take procs into account, such as Markovian's Advantage and Zolhan's Technique. I call this build the Gun Witch. Its primary damage sources are Physical, Vitality and Chaos. Although it masquerades as a normal ranged class, it's very much a pure caster as the bigger bulk of its DPS comes from magical sources. It's a pretty simple and straightforward build, but I'm loving the flavor and how fun it looks to shoot dual pistols at sonic speed. So far one of the more fun builds I've done.

I'm double posting but whatever, this is justified. I just killed Loghorrean a 2nd time and I can't believe what a pile of shit this fight is. It just gets worse with each playthrough. I really and sincerely hope that Crate doesn't bother trying to rebalance it but just outright remove it completely. It's an awful fight all around and there are some builds that will never be able to beat it in Elite or higher difficulty.

You would love the Exterminus for that build. Found it this weekend. It's more for a Demo/Occu tho. ->

wanted to try a solaels witchfire + possesion gunslinger build too. Currently I have a Solaels + Cadence build using 2handed weapons on another char that is quite fun.

I did the Great Vagina on Elite yesterday. It was even more stupid than Normal/Veteran. My resistances were 60+ for all of them with potions. I drunk like 10 potions before the fight and still was smacked by him and his constant summons spam. At one point there was like 6 tentacles and at least 5 of the melee dudes at the screen. But finally I cheesed him hard. I noticed that it appears that after some time, some of the adds despawn or something. So I would enter the arena, smack him a couple of times, run to my rift, teleport to city, wait a few minutes and when I entered the rift again there seemed to be fewer of the adds there, so I could run to him and smack him again. Took some time but I managed to kill him.

And now I can play on Ultimate, except its such an absurd gear check. If you dont have every resistance in the 60-70+ level, the corresponding monsters will fuck you. I had acid around 35%, and every mob using acid of any kind would melt my 14k hp reaaaally fast. And you have to remember that ultimate has like -50% resistance penalties on the elemental ones, and some lower penalty on the bottom ones I believe.

But Im not extremly salty about this, its the hardest difficulty so Im kinda fine with it being the ultimate challenge and I now farm Steps on Elite for shit and Legendaries. I can do the Hero room on Elite without breaking a sweat so its all well and good. Just need some sweet legendaries with their bonus resistances and shit.

And the worst thing about Giant Vagina? The drop is shit. I did not get anything good from the chests there, not even an epic AFAIR. And killing him again on the same difficulty gives you nothing at all, no drop from him, no chests in the room.

Hell, In Path of Exile Im always happy after killing Malachi on Cruel because it means I wont have to kill him ever again on this char but the Gaping Vagina is something else, the summon spam rate alone is beyond stupid.

That's a sweet gun. The biggest drawback to Chaos and Vitality damage is that some of the most lethal monsters, the demons, are very resistant to it. I hardly did any damage at all against the Act 3 and Act 4 end bosses. I had some pretty miserable moments there. The proc on that gun will eliminate that problem. I still recommend trying the build, especially since you got that gun. It's kinda irritating that Chaos damage has this drawback, whereas pretty much every skill or spell that does Aetherial damage (I'm considering them as opposites so that's why I'm making the comparison) also does something else like Lightning or Fire damage which work fine against enemies who are otherwsie resistant to Aetherial.

I remain hopeful since the last patches are for rebalancing. I'm sure the higher difficulties still need work and I hope Crate doesn't go totally nutty and make them one shot fests, because no one considers that to be fun. It's just irritating and frustrating and limits what builds will be fun to play at end game. Logharron is a completely lost cause though and should just be removed and redone. It's an utter failure and I don't even know why they'd think this was a good idea on paper either. You don't even actually fight the sack of shit, just a bunch of banal minions with the occasional time when you go punch the giant bean bag whenever you have a short 1-2 second breather. It's too bad that the Warden was the only interesting act finale boss fight in the game, but at least Darius and Karroz weren't offensively awful.

Well, they kinda "teleport" you on to the last boss area anyway, since you can't leave by the door you came into.

Why not make the ground crumble behind you leaving you on a round platform which can only be left by riftgate.
Now the Boss could cycle around the platform on some triggers i.e. X seconds passes, X% HP lost etc.

Currently to kill the boss I could literally tape my mouse button down and go make tea.

I know what you mean. The build (don't remember which) that enabled steps of torment (I think level cap was 35), was the one I started my Chaos/Vitality occultist caster. Going steps was pretty good, skeletons could not handle the Doom Bolt and ground Sigils and the "Terror" relic was awesome. But going to the cthonian rifts a few builds later with this char was a bit of a show stopper.

Best option for dual pistols are greens with chain lightning imho. My commando was clearing rooms without entering them, just shoot the first guy and watch the chain lightnings clear the room (or map lol)
Though that character was kinda useless against some bosses, kiting forever...

Only thing I hate with dual pistols is the turn speed / animation speed.
With a 1 pistol + offhand or 2hand rifle you can basically shoot and instantly move to another position -> stutter stepping / animation canceling. With the dual wielding guns, you have a delay in that, making kiting enemys not as effective as with 1 gun or rifle and it feels clunky if you're used to the other.

Sure, there are far better ways to make a magic based gunslinger. Arcanist would probably be your best bet over Occultist because of how reliable Elemental damage is + the sweet ass passives in the Arcane tree. I just went with Occultist sincce it's my favorite Mastery. Next time I'll go with Arcanist. Maybe Arcanist / Demo and just shoot chain lightnings out of my asshole. Now there's a fun build idea.

Anyway, my friends wanna play online and I thought about making a Tanky Soldier that does Physical and magic damage. I was thinking of Demo / Soldier, but I'm kinda tired of Demo for now, and it takes quite a lot of time for Fire Strike to become good. Then I thought about Shaman / Soldier, but Savagery sucks dick and the 2nd tier of that skill that increases OA and DA is dumb. 12 points to invest in it and it gives less OA and DA than Field Command. I dunno what to do. Maybe I'll just have to make a straight up Physical damage Soldier and go with Cadence. Cadence is just so good.

Pure soldier tank is pretty gud. I'm using one and have nearly maxed out every defensive skill and cadence and its modifiers. Only thing my tank is lacking atm is offensive ability, he misses bosses too often, so killing a boss on elite takes a lot of time. But my char himself can't die, thats the bright side. To die he really needs to stand inside multible voidzones while beeing pumeled by 10 yellow enemys and 1-2 bosses.

Playing a grenadier.

Grenades as primary, and cluster bombs secondary. Bosses do not last more than a few hits, and procs are amazing.
