Demolitionist + Occultist , thoughts anyone? Trying to make a ranged 2h type of character , currently lvl 21 , working with fire strike has my main attack , blackwater cocktail from the demolitionist , Solael witchfire , sigil of consumption on the occulist side . It's fun to play , but im a bit squishy . Will be aiming for maximum chaos and fire damage with both class. Now just need to see if past act 3 i ll get my ass handed to me . Taking all tips if anyone had experience with similiar build

Is this game demanding? I have a PC from 2008, which runs path of exile and diablo 3 fine, but this graphics look more weighty.

Nah, its not more demanding than any of those games. In fact, it used to run better on my laptop than poe, both on medium.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
It's based on Titan Quest I believe, which has graphics that still pretty much hold up, with good performance even at the time.

I played it for a bit. To boost your survivability you'll want blood of dreeg + the secondary skill to give physical resist, and Blash Shield from demo has become quite strong with the most recent patch (at max levels absorbs 800 damage from every hit for 4 seconds, every 10 seconds). Sigil of Consumption I don't like very much but ymmv -- I suppose it does go well with a fire-based demolitionist, but I just find the skill pretty underwhelming. You'll definitely want Curse of Frailty + Vulnerability, one of the best debuffs in the game, to slow down melee attackers and lower their elemental resistances (becomes important later on). You'll also probably want Canister Bomb with the transmuter for crowd control.

thanks for the tips . I'll definitely take a llook at Blast shield , 800 dmg absorb sound good , not to say a must . And yeah , i took basically Sigil for the mix of fire and chaos damage , but for it to heal nicely , the ennemy need to be pretty static , else i can throw it into a big crowd of slowish monster and try to take down the other ones not touched by the sigil. For crowd control i was thinking of going with the quick cocktail , and the radius is 5.8 at max lvl vs 6.6 for canister bomb . Might be better if my gear is more fire oriented . Can always respec if things dont go well. And brofist for you , I was forgetting blood of dreeg

How are the guns in this game? I was disappointed with the gun play in Van Helsing, they felt alot weaker than melee and not worth it.

LOL Just lost my first HC pc due to some braindead play on my way to the SoT. There was a hero mosnter with Reflect, and well I used shadow strike while I had 900hp left. YOU DIED

How can I bring this nigga back 2 laif? cheat engine?

Just as a word of warning Reflect can uttterly fuck you up and some of the undead have it a lot, so for HC you need to be REALLY careful with it. Especially for certain builds my shaman/occultist with lightning dual pistols has extremely variable damage if things proc right she can shoot out at like 300% attack speed and if she procs the lightning bolts and crits its like 15k damage in one sec (not saying that is super amazing its just that with bad luck it would just be a like 3k). I had basically instantly died to reflect on that character. Even worse she uses storm totem and that thing hits for like 2k-5k over and over and you can't stop it. So even while she is running she still takes damage from reflect. One time I was litterally about to die from the totem keeping on shooting had evey heal on CD and and like 20% health left and I was like "shit is it goona reflect again?" fortunately that last one killed the thing.

I am not sure about rifles/bows really. It does look like savagery is meant enhance the two-handed stuff. But dual pistols can be made to be very strong damage with either fire-strike or savagery and various procs. The procs are from equipment and/or class. Basically with good attack speed and decent procs you can chain saw through things. Personally I like to have a second class based skill for AOE and a enhancing debuff as well (flashbang or curse of frailty). For bosses having storm totem has helped one of my pistols build a lot as for certain bosses it can be very hard to kite and still get half-way decent DPS even with curse of frailty. So having two totems zapping while I run means I don't need excessive defense. Of course if I can face tank something it dies much faster.

It can be kind of hard to fill out all of fire strike and multiple class procs(say in soldier). Savagery is less points and arguably as much or more damage and puts you right at storm totem. On the other hand fire strike has a lot of damage types and can fit decent with Arcanist and arcanist has some nice damage enhancers. Now that occultist give attack speed with witchfire its also becomse a nice DW proc addition. Anyway DW pistols is strong and there are a few ways to play it.

Pretty sure some dude was working on it, but stopped till release for whatever reason. Since the game came out a few days ago, the tool will follow soon. There was a thread on their forums at some point, but it's been a while since i visited.

GOG DRM-Free version coming in March:

LINK: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/show...forums/showthread.php?p=339620#post339620</a>

With Grim Dawn release coming tomorrow, naturally there are questions about backer rewards and DRM-free copies. It occurred to me that I posted about this on KS but there are also website backers who will want this information. So, sorry for the delay, here's what to expect:

Virtual Rewards - The items themselves are actually finished but we need to set up a way to distribute them both on and off Steam. We know how it's going to work on Steam and just need to configure it. How we will get the actual codes to people is a little more complicated. That will have to happen through Humble Store. They actually have a nice system to set up distribution for backer rewards... except we were one of their original customers and first Kickstarters, so our stuff was not originally set up using that system. It's set up in a more convoluted manner and we're just going to have to work with them to make sure everything goes out to the right backer tiers. It's not a real issue, it's just something that I don't have time to set up yet. I'll be handling all this logistical stuff after release. I'm thinking we'll be able to get this set up within two weeks though, maybe less depending on how things go.

DRM-Free copy
- Part of this is setting up distribution, which requires a little work but should be much less complicated than the virtual goods since we're just sending out one thing to all backers. We do however want to make sure we wrap up any significant hotfixes so we don't package up a DRM-free build that immediate needs to be updated... which would be a problem since there is no service, like Steam, that you can just connect to for automatic updates. In the future we'll probably just have to distribute updates as full builds or set up some sort of patcher. I think we can have this out by the end of next week (March 4th), if not sooner.

On a related note, we are also planning a GoG release. We should have a version of GD out on the GoG store sometime in March.

Physical Goods - I have not sent out surveys yet for backer addresses. I will wait to do this until we are ready to ship the goods to make sure we have the most up to date information. So, don't worry about address until you receive the survey.

Sandcaster got samples from the print shop this week for the map and poster. He says the map looks awesome but wants to up-res the poster, so it's a little higher quality. When that's done, it will be set to print and then we'll package them up to ship.

The boxed version is something we still need to figure out. We haven't decided yet who we will use to print the boxes and discs. It's probably good to have some lag after release anyway so the build can become more finalized before we master it to disc. I'll post another update when we get closer to shipping those and, of course, will survey addresses again when they're ready to mail.

That's all for now!

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
Where the fuck is Isaac's hidden stash (Quest "A sacrifice")?
It's supposed to be near some river Delta, but there's more than just one delta of that river since it's splitting.

There's a path a little NW of the top entrance to the cave in Foggy Bank (on the western side). The stash is in a randomly placed stump there.

I don't remember this being linked here:
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/tag/grim-dawn/

“If you have an ARPG itch to scratch, I can’t recommend you look anywhere else right now,” our Alec said in his Wot I Think of Grim Dawn [official site]. It’s an action-RPG in ye olde olde Diablo-y style, with wizards and warriors clicking on monsters until they explode in pleasing showers of rusty swords and golden coins. It’s got pedigree too, as developers Crate Entertainment were founded by some of the remains of Titan Questdevs Iron Lore. Now, following a Kickstarter and several years on Steam Early Access, Grim Dawn is finally properly released.

Yeah I started a new game on elite and changed my build for massive burst damage with all the possible +speed buffs. First encounter with a hero mob w. some skeleton trash in the midst -> instant death. I was like wtf since the boss doesn't have reflect, only to realize that it was the single skeleton knight trash mob.

Pretty damn stupid, really.

So I decided to make a Vitality focused caster: http://grimcalc.com/build/XNbJre
Basically took Shaman/Occultist and took all skills that focus on Vitality damage or boost to vitality damage :D
