Make sure to put the extra points into HP at character creation. For the two on the front it's a must.

Usually, just ask them who they are and then depending on how much they tell you you get more keywords from their response. I guess sometimes it's necessary to charm them first before they become more chatty and don't hold back, eg. Gorlo.

Casting "Mind Read" on them gives you the keywords they will talk about. Some NPCs resist that spell though.

Compare the dice rolls. Should be pretty straightforward.

Just fyi - You can see weapon damage for everyone by clicking on the review order icon (double axes, middle left of the combat UI). Even if it doesn't show in assay it shows in there.

Just FYI about perk keys -
you need 8 perk keys when you get to the Samhain area to open 8 perk chests there.

Anyone know if I should start saving up the locksmith or general gate keys for something else like this?

Also a good tip for lazy people like me who dislike the bother of moving your left hand too much. You can remap e to be enter with authotkey and just blow through combat, etc. I mapped esc to q because hitting escape was too much of hassle when I accidentally hit use. Script is simple and as follows -

$e::enter
$q::escape
$t::e
$y::q

Yes, all in 8 crypt things all touching each other on the same map you get George's sword - the fire sword thing. Its pretty neat, if you click on one a big rainbow sprays out over the screen. The names lead me to believe it was some sort of backer reward, and most have pretty humorous text for their corpses.

There is something incredibly appealing about multiple dead-ends, vague journal notes and overcoming obstacles entirely by your own wit.

It's 2017 yet it feels rejuvenating to once again experience first-hand the opposite of "dumbing-down".

Noone know. The game might become better, or it might become completely and utterly broken beyond repair.
It's a good idea to download early release from steam depot using method explained in Lady_Error post just in case...

I swam with two of my girls through most of that chamber, refilling vitality just enough to get out. Turns out, Cleve is not as sadistic as I thought and it's much closer.

Should have grinded it back at Aquavia :smug: At Swimming 100, they can swim 9 squares.

Um..., holding it down vs using the repeat command....I think you can even set the "delay" on how often the key repeats until you press it again.

I guess every time you fail a letter or a chain connection there is a chance for trap to fire adversely depending on your lockpick skill.

Generic words bring generic responses. You have to track what they say of themselves and their jobs, then try some of the words they say. Not everything is underlined. In the end, Mindread is still your best bet. :negative:

Shesh...get "mind read" cast it on NPC. you'll get a list of all the shit they will talk about which may lead to other keywords.

  • For item stats: select ASSAY in context menu, drag item onto icon.
  • For additional information (à la "examine"): select LOOK in context menu, drag item onto icon
You can discover all kinds of useful info this way

Gotta say guys, playing the game while finding things and posting/reading it here is pretty much making my enjoyment of this game way better.



Absolutely.

Not giving the player all the information off the bat is actually awesome. Fuck accessibility. It's much more enjoyable to revel in mystery. Sort of like "unreliable narrator". I remember when Diablo 2 expansion launched and you had to figure out rune words on your own, by trial and error. It had been very rewarding.

Does anyone know how increasing the berserk skill affects the berserk ability? Does having a higher berserk skill level increase the chances of a berserked berserker hitting the enemy rather than other PCs, or does it just increase the damage bonus?

Similarly, does the shield skill actually work? Is it just a passive effect or should there be messages about blocking attacks?

Is the backstab skill restricted to certain weapon types (e.g. blades)?

It makes Berserk deal more damage (maybe extra attacks too, idk that bit but I seem, to recall, maybe) and it makes it so Berserk attacks stop hitting your party. Cleve's comment on it made Berserk seem really powerful.

Yes it seems to work, I have used it, and it can also fail to work (will say so in a message). Shielding yourself is possible, or shielding others, but I did have an issue where my frontline could not shield the char directly below him, idk what that was about.

I think I've heard it was, but I do not recall the source so it may be baseless speculation. I did try to backstab with a short sword myself but that didn't happen, but I only tried a few times at low skill levels.
