I'm curious, if evidence came out that censorship in video-games dramatically reduced violence in the countries that had it, would you be willing to call countries without censorship retarded pussies?

Imagine, just for example, you have two governments. Both know their citizens hate censorship, but also know that it reduces violence. Government A lets call them the USA does not censor, and the people love the government because of it, even though people are being murdered left and right. Government B, lets call them Australia, has censorship, and the people hate the government and calls them pussies, even though murders have become extremely rare because of it. Which government is the pussy? The one that has the guts to do what is best for the people even though it decreases their popularity and maybe even power, or the one that is too scared to go against the people and willingly gives them their violence and therefore gains popularity and more power over its people?

Why not simply leave blood, gore and all that stuff in and make the game FSK 16. It's not as if there was any depiction of realistic violence anyway...

I entirely fail to understand how creating an atmosphere in which people have no respect for the government is ultimately going to reduce crime. Ultimately, a lot of crime occurs simply because people no longer have any respect for authority, and therefore see little reason to obey arbitrary laws. Besides, a little murder every now and then isn't such a bad thing. Keeps people on their toes. Otherwise they start to get complacent, and pretty soon they're unwilling to lift a finger to save their own asses, which is really what the government wants. Just take a look at South Africa. Sure, the murder rate is horrific, but at least people there are willing to act, and even install flamethrowers on their cars. I ask you, how can that be a bad thing, for is it not written, "Never settle with words what you can accomplish with a flamethrower."?
