The Codex doesn't cover console games, anyway, almondblight.

It just doesn't seem like the type of "RPG" the Codex usually covers. I might just be uninformed, though, so whatever.

As opposed to what, Jiu Jitsu? The roguelikes we usually cover around here are pretty fucking 'dumbed down'.

By the way it's not an FPS unless you're a fucking moron or something. Oh noes, it has a first person perspective, it must be an FPS.

It also has a ToHit system based on the character system of the game to determine when you've shot something rather than a simple collision check like an FPS has.

And apparently, according to previews, defense is in part decided by how well you are at strafing.

You seem uninformed about what we cover, then. Hell, we cover the Gothic series, and it doesn't get much more MANUAL ACTIONY than Gothic. That's not to say I like those games, but we still cover them.

It's funny how Jiu makes a fuss about Hellgate London but doesn't make a fuss about the Gothic series, or lately Boiling Point - which is as much an RPG as it is a Grand Theft Auto sort of game (which according to reviews doesn't detract from its RPGness, either).

I guess I just forgot that the Codex covers lame "RPGs" like that. My mistake.

NWN wasn't actually that bad, I liked and for a bit it's quite addicting and such. It sure as hell isn't the worst game ever, but it's sure as hell not the best game, either. It just sits painfully in the middle, balancing between the fact that maybe it is just a subpar game and higher aspirations to be a greater roleplaying experience.

I'd rate it as a garishly green-orange type of color.
