Seems to me you should look into playing various Roguelikes; TOME4, Sil, DCSS, Brogue, Caves of Qud etc. If you don't like the permadeath do TOME4 on adventure settings.

I love how your triple post left out "Caves of Qud" in the second and third version. What are you hiding?

I keep getting a server error and it deleted Caves of Qud
