How do I play Morrowind?

I wonder if there would be any repercussions at all, given that NPCs stay where they are
You get n'wah'd.
Well, that's a given. I've never tried to kill all the Morag Tong. You'd probably miss out on their quests.

Anyway, I guess the boring reality is that he just confused the names.

I went back to Balmora, realized I haven't been in uptown yet. First I visited Hlallu manor, people told me that in their Great House one must not work against House, except situation when noone knows it's him.

Well, that's their business. Anyway, I found 20 magic arrows and stole it. They didn't know it's me so it's me, then it was in accordance with their philosophy. Later I found Morag Tong guild, very dark place.
Found book where I read that to join them I have to go to Vivec. I will consider that.

Went to comonna tong club, understood that I have to kill these five people for that guard. I was too weak to fight with all of them though. Will back here another time. Caius told me to find friends and to join a guild.

Mage guild fited me most. I joined them, they told me I have to worth with some pussy, Ajirra. She wanted me to find shrooms. I knew nothing really grows around Balmora so I took strider to Seyda Neen. I was looking for shrooms in the rain.
Fuck my life.
clbCCg5l.jpg

Went back to Ajirra, gave her shrooms, she wanted me to help her in her bet with Galbatroix who achieves Journeyman rank first.
Easy. I sold Ajirra arrows and bought magic dagger, might be useful. So I went back to woman who made me member of the guild. She made journeyman straight away. Pussy and Galbatorix must be pretty weak if I already outruned them. Anyway, she gave me to task to convince Telvani mage or kill him. Mage guild is pretty ruthless. Ajirra gave me task as well, I have to collect her some flowers.

Now I am going to that mage, I'll collect flowers while travelling.

Morrowind relies a lot on its limited draw distance to create atmosphere and illusion of scale.

I think that only really works in the moment, then when you explore around you get a literal sense of the scale of the game (which doesn't feel small to me). I don't feel like anything is lost by just cranking up the view distance as far as suits you
You don't get real sense of scale until you start casually levitating over mountains. Pretty much all paths in game are very twisted which extends distances between locations several-fold.

What's your class and sign?

Also, protip:
Morag Tong =/= Camonna Tong, pay attention!
"Tong" just means "Guild" in smokeskinesque.

Khajit has no face?
I don't know how to change camera to show face.
If you hold the key you use to switch between TPP and FPP you can pan the camera around your character.

I made mage, but mostly I am using conjured dagger, magic fighting isn't effective for now. I took horse sign.
I understood diffrence between Morag and camonna when I visited them, but thanks.

Well, a character with 100 max magicka likely won't be an effective combat mage. If you still want to try, you will need as many fortify intelligence enchantments as you can cram on your person and perhaps some creative prebuffing with restoration or mysticism + conjuration. With large speed bonus (from Steed) you can make a good Rincewind stand-in, though.

I hate vulcanic area. Really. From the very first second I walked into red wind. Most of the journey I spent killing monsters (especially cliffers).
Eventually I found Dunmmer stronghold my mentor mentioned earlier. Finding mage's house took my much more time. Noone liked me here. Didn't have much choice, I killed him.
On my way back I strayed in Deadra shrine someone I heard about in rumors. Didn't have power nor supplies, so I only killed imps.

When I saw some green land went there instantly, I prefer walking longer but on normal ground. Found kwama mine, miners told what it is and what they are doing. I looted some kwama's, will use it to make fatigue potions later. On my way to Balmora I saw Tomb, I got some experience since beggining and now I killed wraiths easy. Found key to chest, but no chest to open.

Eventually I got back to mage guild, made some more oprimal spells. It's a pity learned spells are easier to cast than those made myself. Low effect spells but many are btter thing than one big spell.
Now I am teleporting somewhere else, to some green area. I am done with this rock desert.

This is good, perhaps the thread could be moved to a Lets Play since you are giving such detailed notes and with a few more pics this could work.
Ok since you are doing a pretty hard thing by starting out as a kitty magician I will give you a few pointers to make things easier; the way leveling works in Morrowind is you get multipliers at levelup depending on what skills you used to most for leveling. Each skill (say lockpicking) is affected by an attribute (say dexterity for lock picking) so the more you use skills with a particular attribute the higher your multiplier.
So, one of the first things you need to get higher is your intelligence so you will have a higher magic point pool so you need to do magic stuff to become better at magic... or go to trainers male it faster or to get skills you wouldn't normally use like Spear, Heavy and Medium Armor to get a high multiplier for Endurance for example, which controls how many HP you have.
I would recommend you get at least 2 or 3 lessons per level to ensure you get the proper multipliers and since most magic disciplines are ruled by inteligence you can raise the cheaper disciplines to ensure you get the multiplier bonus, plus it will make it easier for you to cast those spells
Another way is to start doing alchemy, which you can raise by eating ingredients and making potions, it is also a very good way to get a lot of money in Morrowind since you can go pick some flowers do an couple of cheap endurance potions and sell them for profit.
I would also recomend you would start doing cheap summoning spells to raise your abolities on that, having a ghost or skeleton to soak up some damage is a good way to do the more dangerous tombs and caves you probably wouldnt risk at starting levels

You are supposed to play it in a wizards hat and robe in real life, and only drink mead. Whenever you get injured, you must cut yourself.

I don't recommend eating the ingredients to try and level up alchemy. thought eating ingredients to unlock one of the effects like in Skyrim but after 10 items I got nothing, you get very little exp for eating them as well.

Leveling up with a trainer to 15 is pretty cheap and it unlocks the first effect and you can do alchemy after to level up.

Yep.

There is no point powergaming Morrowind and minmaxing multipliers is just that, all it gives you is boring bookkeeping and getting out of the sweet spot faster.
If you want to beef up particular attribute that fits your build, then simply use related skills a lot. For intelligence it's alchemy, enchant and conjuration - also security, so giving in to kitty impulses and cracking open locks to see what's behind will help too.

or go to trainers male it faster or to get skills you wouldn't normally use like Spear, Heavy and Medium Armor to get a high multiplier for Endurance for example, which controls how many HP you have.
But that again is dumb powergaming.
Utility of HPs is circumstantial - classes that are meant to take heavy beating need them more. Wizards are not meant to tank hits with their faces in melee and should try to stay out of harm's way at the distance as well - that's the specifics of the class. Casters need Intelligence and willpower first, then whatever they need the most at the moment or luck.

I would recommend you get at least 2 or 3 lessons per level to ensure you get the proper multipliers and since most magic disciplines are ruled by inteligence you can raise the cheaper disciplines to ensure you get the multiplier bonus, plus it will make it easier for you to cast those spells

Stop with the powergaming advice already!
:x

Summoning is indeed good as it allows mage to avoid tanking and helps develop intelligence. Plus capped at 100 magicka caster needs all the help they can get laying into enemies.
Protip:
Some summons handle particular situations better than others - for example ancestral ghost may seem like the weakest summon there is, but it's incorporeal. Send a much more powerful skeleton against a burly Nord bandit with 2h warhammer and he will two-hit you both - first he will smash skeleton's skull, then your, all in about 2s. Send an ancestral ghost and he can swing his massive unenchanted hammer all day long or at least until your summon expires on its own.
Spirits and most daedra are incorporeal/supernatural. Also consider resistances and mode of attack.

Regarding your magicka pool. It's pretty much common knowledge that you need at least +0.5x multiplier to be effective pure caster, meaning that you need to be an Altmer/Breton (any sign) OR Mage/Apprentice/Atronach (any race). Without that you won't really get to use all the specialized custom nuke grade spells. You will be stuck with circinate (premade) ones like lightning or firestorm which are barely sufficient against high level enemies.

HOWEVER:
I've checked a few things and by the end game (mostly vanilla MQ and Mages guild, plus some exploration) you can amass enchanted items giving you constant intelligence and raw magicka bonuses putting you well into endgame viability range even as offensive caster.
You can improve this result, among other things, by enchanting your own trinkets.
With BM expansion you can increase it even further and that's not counting certain ludicrously powerful robe.

You might want to wait until you meet the Telvanni mages if you're taking the mage path seriously. They aren't close to where you are right now, and they aren't really friendly to the Mages Guild, though...
Hlaalu is more fit for rogueish types and apart from that they are globalists.

Much happened. I used teleportation services to Caldera. There I found trade shop. With artifacts. Laying in open. I bought invisiblity potion before so now I used it to steal ring enchanted with invisiblity. Good trade. Then I used ring to steal enchanted robe and amuler with enchanted lockpicking. And bought robe enchanted with healing for ridicoulus money, 17 drakes.
MHF4P7zl.jpg

Then, I went outside town looking for some ingredients and flowers for Ajiira. Spent some time killing and harvesting. By accident I found another Tomb. Easy imps and then Dremora. Tough enemy, but with new artifacts I won. Short after tomb I saw some woman. She told me she was robbed, but also hinted that bandit's den is somewhere here. So I started to look for them. Got distracted by naked dumb nord.

He told me some witch robbed him from his clothes and axe and that if I help him he will give me reward. So we started to look for her. I spent A loooot of time looking for her. Anihilated nearby fauna with in process. The fog was the worst. Eventually we found her. She told me guy tried to rape her so she wanted to teach him a lesson, he was dumb enough to make me believe that. He didn't want to accept truth so he tried to kill me. He was tough, luckily he didn't have his axe.
sU5Sresl.jpg

After that I roamed around for a moment, got distracted again by merchant who wanted me to escort her to Gnaar Mok in exchange for magic boots. During travel I visited blade agent who was watching over road. After easy trip to Gnaar merchant gave me her boots.
Unfortunelly I couldn't wear them as I am Khaijiit :/ It'll be only 6 years before I can wear them though. In Gnaar I chatted with people, stole some from Hlalu Manor and talked with the wissest woman on this part of Vvardenfell, amount of thigns I could ask her about was terryfing.
ESKhxyPl.jpg

I decided it's time to back, but there wasn't any strider so I traveled boat to Hla Oad. Roamed around village, found cave underground the city where they lived. One guy asked me to escort his slave Rabaani to Balmora. I accepted, but only to help slave as she was khajit, like me. Slave told me she ate moonsugar package and I can help her by taking her to Ebonheart, to Argonian mission to people who help slaves. Took fast boat to Ebonheart, escorted her to argonians and got 400 drakes. Worth.
WbHglnzl.jpg

I saw I am near Vivek, so I started looking for Silt Strider near entrance. Tomb nearby distracted me. There I saw some half-naked guy, at first I wanted to talk with him, but he attacked me. Hard fight. Turned out it was vampire. Behind doors I found two more vampires, but killed them with Ancestral Spirit help. Their ashes were most vaulable items here.
KmasBE5l.jpg

Eventually I found strider and went back to balmora. I have to find mage who can teach me charm, nobody likes me. And I must find those bandits and bring that woman her things for reward.

I am soo much your fan man, DraQ is right I was giving you too much power gaming advice... although it is still sound advice because your mp is way too low for a straight up magic user but you seem to be doing fine so go with it!
I think in the end your character will be more like a spellsword who can use some melee and magic as backup
Loved how you got creative with your thievery, since you already found it I would suggest you go pickup the Blade of Woe, it is a very good starter weapon
For charisma, well start by giving some money to people you want to impress, that will help a lot
Looking forward to your adventures man!
Regards

I don't think that being able to see further gives that any more or less impact. It was a technical limitation. The fog adds nothing

The fog and view distance was taken into account when the game was in development so without it the game looks very sparely populated

Pop the CD into the player. Install and patch the game, then start it. Try to find Caius Cosades. Talk to everyone. Talk is cheap. Ask questions. You don't ask, you never learn.

At least, that's what I would say if I had spotted this thread a bit earlier. But OP is already well on his way and he's asking a sincere question, not looking for trolling responses. So all I can say is just enjoy it. With a game like Morrowind, it's great to just start playing it with relatively little meta-knowledge. It's a one-time experience that you'll never get again.

The distance fog is a temporary illusion. Once you've walked around an area you have a map of it in your mind, and you realise the scale of it's size and population. It's not a small game! Why limit your vision?
