You should go into the Adventure Guild and when you exit the Guild it's morning :)

Congrats, great picture! Do you use summoned monsters? Are they useful? I used a seven-members party in BT3 only and I can't remember about BT1 which one I played a long time ago. But I think I must use NPCs in BT2 so I have to kick out one member of my party :(

(Couldn't we summon some pigs for the dragons? )

Long live the new flesh!
I always try to get a summoned creature with a breath weapon. Since you don't have to recharge spell points on them like you do with spellcasters they wind up being very useful.

Summoned monsters are great meat shield for my party and sometimes very useful in combat. Thor is ubercool and you may find his figurine in Mangar's tower pretty easy.

Poor hungry dragons. Mangar is such a prick. They must organize a trade union.

my reward

Btw there is some incredible C&C here, to rescue the princess I had to kick out the winged creature from my party, the creature became angry and during the first round of the combat it killed the princess :)

You won't believe this, but the princess had been kidnapped again. I saved her again and didn't get any xp for that. Now she is kidnapped once more, what is this, her passion?

Breaking news! There is time limit to solve a quest in BT2! WTF?
Lame times a million

Not always. I enjoyed the urgency in the Magic Candle, and had no problem with the Fallout time limit. I found arbitrary penalties for saving the game more annoying, especially once you have an actual life and cannot spend masses of time until being allowed to save the game, or penalised experience/gold/etc because you save in a naughty spot due to Real Life demanding attention.

Not main quest. There are parts of the dungeons where you can't save and can't press pause and there is a time limit to solve the puzzle(s) of that part. If you press the pause key you get an "Are you kidding?" answer. :D

What can I do with the segments of the wand? I can't equip and can't use them. Now I have 2 pieces only but I have so little inventory free slots, it's a nightmare.

I won the battle of Fanskar and his famous pet, they were very difficult to my low level party, fortunately my summoned master mage had cast some high-level spell (nuke?) and killed the bastards :D

From what I recall -- and its been nearly two decades -- the individual wand pieces cast spells when used as items. Maybe you need to talk to the Sage about them before you can use them.

I also remember mind controlling/charming all of the 'named' bad guys like Fanskar and Oscon and keeping them in my party.

Thanks for the reply. Mind controlled Fanskar? That's great idea :D I will try it on Oscon.
The sage don't want to talk about the wand :) yet
Can I store the wand segments by a not used party member at the inn while I get the other five pieces?

I don't think anyone can honestly evaluate BT unless you were around when it came out and understand the context of the genre at that point in time. Obviously, by today's standards it's practically unplayable. But it's a landmark cRPG, like the Wright Bros first plane, you'd be suicidal to fly in it today, but it laid the foundation for things to come.

Plus it has the greatest cRPG spell of all time.

If you played the games on the C64 or Apple II. If you waited for the PC or Amiga versions, then the playing field was wide open with many better games (even of the same 'type' as BT).

I played them through mainly because I had the C64 and, as you say, there was little around at the time. To be honest, there is still worse than the Bards Tale games, but the blob system had progressed fairly quickly, and better offerings like Might and Magic 2, Wizardry 6, Dragon Wars, etc were out. Still, I had plenty of fun with them back in the day.
