You should have been satisfied with what you have on codex, a place to say anything and talk about anything. Almost impossible to get banned (permanently). But if you overwhelm gaming threads with rw culture war politics it will chase away people who don't share those views, make the codex a more politics oriented site and an echo chamber. So I completely support Infinitron in what he did in order to stop that, and I'm saying that as someone who wants to know which devs/games are woke.

Yes you're probably right op but then again... times have changed. Despite this, rpgcodex might be one the last true good forums, you can chose to talk about video games, you can say what you want (within reasonable and legal boundaries). If you want angriness and misery then look no further, the modern Internet and its large selection of social media got you covered.

Learn to live with the fact that you have to share this corner of the Internet with people you disagree with (on more than just opinions). As long as the whole codex isn't compromised, there can be hope for free discussion. When and if it is ever compromised for good, you'll know, trust me. Or don't, accept that it won't go back to what it used to be, that you no longer recognize the codex you liked and make peace with that. Give it the Old Yeller, nuke your account and go on an adventure to climb the tallest mountain just for the sake of it.

I had moderator privileges over Shoutbox for ~8 months. During that time, with the exception of curtailing Polebox (which I'm proud of), I handed out something like 3 temp bans. I operated with considerable restraint. In fact, Shoutbox was at its peak during my time as moderator. We had the most regulars and we had the best contributors. I was thanked for my service by being replaced by a drug-addicted sociopathic tranny prostitute who destroyed the organic community there. All under the auspices of DU himself. Just Codex things.

If Infinitron openly admitting to discouraging free discussion doesn't even raise an eyebrow among the user base, then I guess the users worth interacting with have all left.
