Nah, was just using the standard 'eat something to find out what alchemy property' practice.
Was under drunk visual FX and surprised it was gone momentarily.

I'm playing a pure mage and it's quite possible. I thought about usings bows but the stamina drain and inaccuracy make them worthless.

The stamina isn't a big deal if you put on stamina gear which is readily available. And there's plenty of stamina pots. Fights are over quickly over 1-2 bolts, so I don't see why you shouldn't do it. In contrast, I tried spamming Summon Swarm that supposedly deals 7 dmg and 7 poison till my mana bar is completely empty and the horker is still alive at 25 Conjuration and near 200 magicka. Unperked Bolt at 6 Marksmanship? Not even 4 hits and it's dead with a ghost wolf nibbling on its butt.

Insert clever insult here
Summon Swarm is completely useless, agreed there. Just summon Ghost Wolf and then use Flamesparks to keep your enemy on fire as it fights your summon - your mana will regain between bursts and you can use mana pots for re-summoning. With bows I can't hit anything unless they are really close, at which point I get off one arrow uselessly and have to switch back to magic. And with crossbows you're stuck reloading it, making you an easy target.

Wow, I'm still playing this shit. It feels like every kill gives you a sense of satisfaction. I'm trying out this crusader build I've read about. Well, I'm at the Embershard Mine, and once you pull a certain lever, these two bandits come rushing out. The first idiot pops out and hits his shield to call on his buddy. It gave me the perfect amount of time to shoot the fucker in the leg with my crossbow, and it took about three-fourths of his health away. The second one comes rushing at me, and I thought I was dead. Timed his strong attack perfectly with a parry and killed that fucker in two blows. The second one, almost dead, finally approaches, and with zero stamina, I take him out in one swift hit.

This thing is awesome. Makes me feel like I'm playing The Elder Scrolls: Dark Souls Edition. I'm actually scared to travel further down this mine. Who knows what the fuck will pop out.

What's that, Sword and board, crossbow and restoration + heavy armor?

By the way, don't turn into a werewolf. I think I am OP as a werewolf with no real negatives. I think someone needs to mod back the Daggerfall "kill 1 innocent a night" requirement to balance out the mechanical power with some consequence.

... doesn't stop me from using it once in a while, though.

Pickpocket Perk 50 - Improve chance when target is asleep.
Basically, pickpocket their key during the day (100%) and then visit them at night.
The reverse Santa Claus.

Yeah, I'm starting as a pure warrior, though. I don't have the mana pool to get restoration perks right now. I'm probably going to start heading in that direction after level 3. I want to level up stamina one time at level 3 and then go and level up magicka. I'll probably be casting some basic, basic shit by level 6.

I'm level 3 right now, by the way. I'm trying to get leveled enough so I can beat Uthgard in her brawl and get her as a companion. I really, really need a companion right now.

Consider using one of those lighting mods that remove invisible light sources, then.

iAAZ2MpXTZdEa.gif

I think it's Enhanced Light or maybe Climates of Tamriel. Anyways, I got it. It is dark to where I can't see unlighted distances. I got one-shotted by a two-hander orc because I was targetting a bandit using a crossbow. Bitch came out of the shadows and hit me over the head. Scared the shit out of me and went straight to the load screen. That happened so often when I was just running Duel that I never really got one-shotted. This time darkness is actually scary. It's too hard to parry attacks because you can't see your opponent's move-set while it's dark. I also don't want to carry around a lantern because my carry-weight is almost maxed out.

Well, I just stormed Fort Greymoor. I killed about 6 bandits with my crossbow. Felt like a legit siege. Hardest part was this crazy Khajit bitch wielding fire and ice magic. She like throws her ice spell from the rafter to catch my attention from behind, and quickly pulls back for cover. While I wait for her to pop up from the tower, she had actually already came down and bullrushed me from behind. 1-shots me with her fire projectile. Damn, she was so fast. I had to keep reloading because she kept killing me. I only killed her because when she bullrushed me she missed her attack and ran right into a mouthful of my mace. That felt really good.

I'd say those bandits were all glass cannons. 4 archers, one dark-elf S&B, and one human S&B. The human stood back, and I one-vs-one'd him. Here I thought he was going to kill me quick, but I actually defeated him.

I have to say hats-off to whomever made this mod. Me, I wouldn't even know where to start to fix the boring ass combat in Skyrim, but these guys did a fantastic job. This version of Skyrim is a legit great game.

Here I thought I was a badass. Went inside the fort, and like 5 or 6 of those fuckers bum-rush you. Ehh... I'll leave it for next time. Fuck that place.

90% of the time, yeah. 10% of the time, you will die a horrible, horrible death, typically at the hands of a vampire decked out in a full suit of enchanted ebony armor.

ETA: And, in my opinion, that's how it should be. Werewolf or not, Requiem does a wonderful job of making you feel like a bad-ass, then giving you a steel plate boot kick to the balls. Rinse, repeat.

I only now just noticed that my ENB settings were wrong. Now that I changed them the game is jaw-droppingly good-looking, even on my 5 year old computer. I have many settings on low but use HD textures. ENB makes it look really fucking good. And since I am not an FPS hound like you guys, I get to enjoy nice-looking graphics. Granted, 20 FPS is way too little for you guys, but I am conditioned to them due to years of outdated rigs, so I don't mind at all.

Doesn't it bother you when you're in combat?
I can do the "hiking" part with low fps without much problem but if I try some combat with that framerate I end up feeling dizzy...

Mmm, let's put it this way: I'd rather it were 60 FPS but here's my two choices: I can make the game look great and fight at 20 FPS, 30 in interior cells, or I can make the game look like crap and play at 25/35 FPS. Given those two choices and being unable to upgrade my rig right now, I think it's okay.

Plus, Dark Souls ran at like 15 FPS in Blighttown (lol)

I'd get rid of ENB even for those 5 FPS but amusingly, that makes Skyrim unstable. With ENB I think it applies some memory patches or something, but without I can count on it to crash once an hour.

I see.
I still can't remember my first 3 or 4 playthroughs before I bought my new pc, I think the choppiness made me go all epileptic and shit while I played and all my memory brain cells from those moments are long dead.
Now I can play at a quite variable rate of 35-65 fps, good enough to smack someone in the head with a hammer without puking.

It's only half charged. What is it with priests of Mara being so violent?
It's fully charged, it will just eat half of its charge on single cast.

What can priest of Mara do with a frost atronach anyway?

You could try disabling profiles while keeping the ENB itself. I'm pretty sure you can do it - it's how I run it for stability reasons alone (else I wouldn't have bothered with ENB at all).
