Icewind Dale IWD on modern systems?

I want to play IWD. I don't want to play trannydog version.

What do I need to do?

Buy from Amazon or find a hard copy somewhere like flea market. GoG and Steam both sell Beamturd version only sadly. GoG iirc does give you the option to install the original but who wants to waste money on those scammers from Beamderp?

People told you that their versions work on Win 10. My Infinity games work on Win 8.1. If you want an excuse at least tell me you have no DvD drive.

I HAVE the OG version. I have it installed right fucking now. I have just told you, that I am going to use the beamdog version because the OG version has really bad screen tearing, runs poorly and the widescreen mod wrecks the UI.

"it runs fine for me!" is not a solution nor does it explain your monumentally retarded logic that buying a physical copy of the exact same fucking software would magically fix all of these issues.

widescreen mod appears to not be scaling properly or something. I set it up for my native resolution but the main menu renders down in the corner of the screen, and once ingame the bottom half of ui/game is not there so i cant select responses or scroll downward and so on

What GoG version do you have?

If it's 2.0.0.11 you need to muck around with the ie-ddraw-fix program included in the installation folder.

I ran it through dgVoodoo myself.
A bit slow on my system (no dedicated video card), but it looked perfect.

There's also ddwrapper and DxWnd. I had to use one of those last time i tried to run IWD2, forgot which.
