This game has superb atmosphere though. Was chasing after some fella into the forest by evening and the night fell. Walking around carefully with the horse because slopes everywhere, wolves howling around.

WHATEVER HAPPENS DO NOT PUT THE SHIRT ON

THOT ALERT
THOT ALERT

Almost forgot: where can I find plenty of belladona?
I never found any although saw a vidya where guy found garden with some. Since it's more expensive than say wormroot at 3 shekels and I only found 3 of those and a few cave mushrooms. At some point I thought they just removed that herb from the game, but it's there in herbarium.

So just buy them from wise womyn of the forest. They sell plenty and restock it every day.

I can't remember the exact spot, I wasn't exactly looking at map but there was quite steep slope on one side with river and rough forest terrain on the other with a wrinkly barely existing footpad path

TL;DR
This game looks like it has huge potential but feels like a buggy and lifeless corpse of a game.

You've been watching the profound ACG review, I see. Well, a responsible gamer does his research, kudos.

I don't even know what ACG is. Stop being a disgusting potato shill for 10 minutes. Your posts are fucking garbage.

I'm waiting to see how patching goes.

Sounds like you haven't played the game. I don't now why everyone keeps claiming that the game is buggy. It really isn't that bad. In 30 hrs the only bug I encountered was a clipping issue during a cutscene. Compare that to old PB titles or Bethesda Shit and the game is positively polished. The only issues are crappy FPS and stuttering in Rattay. If the performance gets tuned a bit it is perfectly fine.

I think a lot of the bad impressions stem from the god awful Prologue. Everything afterwards is Incline. Provided you are willing to make your own adventure and LARP like a good little autist.

The bug's aren't game breaking, just immersion breaking. (I do count crashes & memory leaks / NPC's getting stuck / weird animation shit as bugs btw)

My bigger complaint is the lack of polish. It's weird entering a large city and seeing 3 people walking around. The world feels barren a lot of the time. The quests seem simplistic and repetitive and the story while better than your average bethesda tard fest, just seems a little spread too thin.

As I said, the game has potential but needs to be polished. Feels unfinished.

It ''feels' nothing if you haven't played it.

The "cities" are literally the same size that they were in real life.

Did you just.. miss the entire point or??? :retarded:
What point would that be? There are no "large cities" in the game, only small castle towns. You're surprised that rural medieval Bohemia is sparsely populated?

I have 8GB RAM, i-5-4460 @ 3,20Ghz and Geforce GTX 650 Ti and I get around 20 FPS even at low settings (in fact it doesn't seem to matter much if I play on low or on high settings, it hovers at around 15-25 FPS).

Anyone with a comparable setup can comment? As it is it's unplayable.

Before I bought new gfx card, I had i5-2500k @ 4.4ghz, 16 gb ram and 560ti, and I could run KCD on medium at about 25-32 fps.
I’m on an i5 2500k @ 4.4 GHz and a AMD R9 290 and i get 30 to 75 fps (I’ve capped it at that). With custom settings the game looks great and my LODs are maxed out. The trick, for me, was low shadows, medium objects and post processing, and high shaders. Textures set to very high and water to high, the game looks and plays very well, 1920x1200.

Used R9 290 w/ 4 GB VRAM and better cooling (ie xfx double dissipation version) can be found for $150 if you’re patient. https://m.ebay.com/itm/XFX-R9-290-4...53c99d4:g:m-gAAOSwTQtaBook#vi__app-cvip-panel

Something else to keep in mind if you’re using windows 7 and an intel processor released mid-2016 or earlier (such as my sandybridge 2500k): microsoft’s meltdown fix for win7 was made such that your entire computer’s performance takes a huge hit. Just another way for them to push users to win10. Thankfully you can disable the fix and regain your performance using a tool such as InSpectre. My game randomly froze for seconds at a time and was in general performing horribly before I disabled the meltdown fix. Since win7 and my generation of hardware is still vulnerable to Spectre, all major browsers have patched for meltdown, and I’m not running random VBS / java code on my computer, I’m willing to live with it disabled.

It just seems dead and lifeless. Entering a village or settlement and there's like 2 people walking around on a long open road instead of a bustling market or whatever.
Feels like they couldn't be assed to add more.

Also don't try and play the "Muh History Lesson" card - I'm pretty sure medieval Bohemia didn't sell health potions at the local shop either.
How convenient to cherry pick the shitty parts of the game and claim it's just being "historically accurate".

You realise all NPCs have places to live, jobs, go to church, open shops, go drink, etc.? They have schedules and purpose, like in Gothic. What would be the point of just adding static actors a-la more people skyrim mods? It's not like most people PCs can handle even that, not talking even about the consoles.

I dunno if it's a bug, but during the quest Rob the Rich, Give to the Poor, after I steal the seal for the vagabond and return to give it to him he is locked up in the town square and I am unable to complete the quest. It's been like that for several days now, with no way to free him or complete the quest otherwise.
Also, the freezes are still present in towns and castles (CPU usage at 100% for a sec or two and then back to normal) and there seems to be no way to avoid them. I've tried setting everything to low and selecting the lowest resolution setting. Hope there's a fix coming up.

Upgrading to Windows 10 solved the freezing issues for me (yes i upgraded because of KCD). I still have fps drops though.

Thinking about putting it on hold until Ryzen+ gets released and i can upgrade my rig, but it will be hard to wait :despair:

I’ve seen this a few times in regards to KCD, microsofts strategy is working :rage:

So have you actually played the game? No settlement is that sparsely populated. If you enter Rattay there are dozens of people walking around. Hell there are approximately 10 ppl at the marked square alone at any moment. Even at the bath house there are always 3-5 Thoths walking around at any time.
Also what would be a respectable number for you? I mean have you been to a rural village? Even nowadays I've been to many places with less population density than Talmberg...

So I guess I am trapped now. In the Uzhitz inn I can't leave or go through any of the doorways, they're all invisible walled. Reloading is a shitty option since I looted a lot of stuff and did a lot of things.
Out of curiosity I typed "save" into the dev console and it crashed the game.
