Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Oh man, this looks a lot better than the tutorial/monk infiltration stuff that got leaked. Should I download the old beta to learn how to fight?

Not bad, but the combat system seems far too forgiving. Here's hoping they fix the AI to be a lot more aggressive, because these Cumans can't fight together worth a damn.

Anyway, Cumans speaking their own lingo was a nice touch, I must admit. Pretty funny if one actually understands them.

The video runs at 4K so the framerate not being 60 is logical. But god damn is it fucking beautiful at 4K.

I looked at the videos, and it seems to have highly scripted and linear missions with checkpoints. That is really, really disappointing. But then again I remember that it's Mafia which introduced this sort of thing, so this is never something that Vavra had an issue with. But this sort of thing is exactly the cancer that is killing gaming.

The combat they are showing off disappoints me to a certain extent as well. Considering they are trying to go for a more "realistic" approach for the setting and world you explore it seems both rather ridiculous and by-the-numbers to have a slow-motion esque element to combat. Not to mention the fact that it has a targeting system similar to Dead Island's, which I was never really a fan of. I also agree in regards to the AI, they seem more passive aggressive than proactively trying to kill you.

This fucking video. They have people building an office and violins and people speaking into a mic so this game must be good!!! Looks like they can't even steal right (from Mount & Blade). Those devs look like the swines behind No Man's Sky. Watch your money.

This looks really far from Witcher 3. This is more off a medieval simulation, everything in Witcher 3 was just a backdrop.

No idea why people compare it to Witcher 3 all the damn time. W3 is a shiny mass-market product (tho as shiny mass-market products go it's a relatively good one).

I've always thought of KCD as a spiritual successor of Gothic - sometimes clunky, rough around some edges and clearly made on a shoestring-ish budget. But also completely unique, engrossing and memorable. Something that will forever attract mockery by people who read Gamespot and think Horizon Zero Dawn is a work of art and undying appreciation and gratitude from a moderately sized but extremely prestigious fandom.

Look, if the worst it can be is a shitty hiking simulator, at least it's a fucking historically authentic hiking simulator set in potatoland, not LOTR fanboyland doused in bloom kerosene

Witcher never even came to mind, until talking about foliage. For whatever reason - never played it, only seen a couple vids - but I associate Witcher 3 as the ingredients harvest game. I guess because the vids I saw were people spasmodically jumping off their horses at the sight of flowers for potion brewing.

If the time of day matters, will seasons? Especially when leading conscripts, you wouldn't want to delay offensives too long.

There are no seasons. Vavra said it's about a real story that took place in spring 1403.

Although it's an open-world RPG so you'll be able to draw out the spring however long you want.

The game ends with story then, like a :obviously:crpg?

Muh soil erosion.
Absolutely, win siege by waiting 1000 years. Just like oblivion:hearnoevil:

Funnily enough, Witcher 3 is pretty light on herb harvesting. You only have to gather each specimen once, and you don't even have to do that, you can just buy everything at alchemist.
It is also a brilliant game, if one has a proper mindset of expecting storydriven action RPG and not turnbased crpg or whatever.

Kingdom Come seems to be different in that its quests will be more open ended, it is first person, more simulationists with more detailed AI etc. But it is also slavic, medieval and with big emphasis on story so that is where the comparisons are from.
