But anyway. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that chick. It's a perfect sample of a healty, attractive female. If Vavra bangs better women than that on a regular basis, I'd very much enjoy hanging out with him when I visit Prague someday.

Vavra is a very...direct dude, not just in his political, Sargon-of-Akkad style views but generally. His Facebook comments are hilarious. For example right now they're doing auditions for actors and actresses and this is what he writes:

We're looking for a pretty young chick for the game, the problem is we can't agree on what is "pretty". This one for instance. Is she pretty? Is she a good pick for the role of a sexy, romantic heroine? Do you find her attractive? Because I don't. To me this photo looks like a mugshot of Angelina Jolie after being arrested for going nuts on crack and beating someone with a sledghammer."

Do I assume right that they are doing auditions for voiceovers? What does it matter if she is pretty or not? Or do they modell them put them into the game as characters?

Just looks like a prettier version of Mount & Blade. Not sure what this has to offer over that game.

Well, don't forget that the landmass is also compressed to make it more gamey.

I fear that the game will end up with the exact same feeling of aimless blandness that so dominated Oblivion. I hope it won't.

It's not for voiceovers, just for "head models" (no idea what's the proper term). Vavra is actually recruiting through Facebook, saying anyone can apply. Candidates only have to be able to make a few grimaces pretty much.

Don't expect anything deeper than a few kewl moves for the cool effect. Half-swording-blending-into-grappling kind of close range techniques are very unlikely.

I'm running the beta ok with my ancient Radeon 7950. It's a relativelly old Cryengine, unless you're playing on your trusty 80386 you should be able to sail smoothly on medium details (the beta is far from optimized btw, just fyi).

How "complete" is the beta as of yet? Is there any content or just a hiking simulator?

I almost bought this game some time ago but changed my mind when I read someone saying all you do is run around on horseback killing things, except there's nothing to kill.
