I have no clue why the fuck there's so many people shitting on Grimrock's combat. Did you like Dungeon keeper/Eye of beholder/Anvil of dawn/... combat? If yes - then why exactly don't you like Grimrock's? If no - then what are you doing in this thread?
You can actually finish Dungeon Master without engaging in many instances of square dancing. In my experience only the stupid Animated Armours, Stone Golems and the Dragon needed that. You can safely tank the rest.

I just don't see why people defend the combat of Dungeon Master. No one I know thought that game was fun because of the combat.

Hey, douchebag, maybe some people liked the rest?

I was not aware that I was doing that. I was merely pointing out that DM combat is not the same as LoG combat, because it lacks the over reliance on side stepping.

I welcome back the proper variety of crpg genre. There is a market for tb blobs, rt blobs, tb iso, action rpg, even rtwp iso. As long as it's good keep it coming. LoG was a good effort and if they can improve on it then I'm sold.

I don't see how that half-assed mechanic in those games changes anything. It's ridiculous how rarely one has to rest. And even if one needed to do it more, that doesn't change the way combat itself is.

fuck - a pit, reload.
Actually, if I remember correctly Grimrock had this weird level design where falling down pits would be almost always favorable to the player. It usually led to secret areas you couldn't access otherwise with bonus items and equipment.
It was pretty irritating because it didn't feel punishing at all.

Anway I liked Grimrock. Solid budget RPG that didn't overstay its welcome. I'm interested to see how they improve on it in a sequel, looks pretty good so far.

Was just going to say what other people already said. This looks like a shitty/dumbed down Might & Magic X. I'll play it and it'll probably be fun, but I think they should have kept it to one huge, massive dungeon.

Only if combat was brutal and involved dismemberment of rival gangs instead of trading blows while waltzing with crabs.

RT blobbers are horrible twitch flex kiting abominations

I will have Paper Sorcerer and MMX for TB blobbing.

Oh and Grimoire too. But I want to play something before I am a grandfather in a few decades. :troll:

Paper Sorcerer is cool and cheap though I think i cold have waited for a 50% discount.

Still Staying away from those abominations called RT Blobbers. And sure as fuck i am not supporting them by paying for that shit.
