I heard dragons are so big to compensate for their little dracoqs
That's the eastern ones, same as with eastern people.
True, but it's a known fact that even the western dracoqs must bow to the epic demented prae-cock.
Your mishapen cock might pose a threat, but only to lesser beings.
Fixed.
Double fixed.

Now seek out Andhaira and pacify him with your prae-cock for he feels lonely and craves for attention.

There. Now suck my prae-cock.
Bah. Amusing coincidence between times of your post and my correction of typos is hardly a proof.

I can help you hold Andhaira while you will be abusing him, though. If only because you're so nice. :P

This game is kind of fun. Just started playing on Sunday. There is a lot of variety in builds and each recruitable piilot has a unique skill sheet. Progress down the skill tree slows down dramatically after a few missions, but not enough to feel like you're stagnating. There are learning and instructor talents that you can buy and I recommend getting them.

There are some choices in the game. At one point you capture a pirate and can let him join or turn him in for 50k (a huge chunk of cash at that point in the game, but not that impressive later). It's kind of one of those no-brainer non-choices as far as I can see. Have an extra pilot, or don't... I don't know if there are further reaching consequences though, as in someone joining later if you didn't recruit the pirate, or if there are more pilots to recruit than there are available slots.

There is a nice variety of secondary objectives you can do which you have to discover for yourself. Normally these can all be found just by visiting all of the destinations on your map, but some have to be done in a certain order. I've missed quests by visiting a place before I picked up my escort. Didn't realize it until I lost the mission and replayed it (forgot to save).

It seems like you can do every mission offered to you despite some being for opposing factions. I don't think I'm that far into the game right now so that may change. Some quests are unlocked by the pilots you have which makes me wonder again about why anyone would choose not to recruit a pilot (again unless there are consequences that I'm not seeing.)

Voice acting is pretty cheesy, but not enough to get on my nerves. Translation errors in some skill and item descriptions which isn't that big of a deal if you're used to reading forums with people not fluent in english. Occaisionally, however, it can lead to an faulty understanding of how an ability works.

You can buy new weapons, and systems as well as new crafts in between missions. Stores have a random selection of available items that it draws from a pool that gets better as you do more missions. The randomness is a poor choice IMO. Money is well balanced and you have to choose purchases carefully. Making somethings unavailable randomly seems a poor choice. Some characters have the Black Market skill which, when purchaced, will give you access to a higher quality random table of items with everything market up 50%. Cool feature, but the randomness still sucks. Main thing is that I haven't been able to upgrade my ships. 3 of my 5 piilots specialize in weapons that require big gun slots. I've only seen an improved big gun ship for sale once, and that was earlier in the game before I'd made close to enough money to buy it. You can win some craft view missions, but that happens pretty rarely.

The game's biggest problem is the combat. Early on it's extremely unbalanced. Weapons are too powerful compared to the ships you have access to. You don't know what the enemy ships are packing and you can engage in a fairly simple looking encounter, be missed a couple times, and not realize you're completely outmatched until your main ship is vaporized in two shots. You can't react to this because one shot will drop your shields and half of your armor, and the second shot will land before you have time to turn and get some range.

This can be compensated for with some cheesy tactics and saving before you commit to encounters that you're unsure of, but that doesn't make it good game design. I keep one guy who has topped his piloting skills in a fast ship in a wing by himself. Move him ahead of the rest of my squad towards the enemy. Turning takes a while, so the next part is trick: when I see the enemy I have to issue a turn order well before they see me and time it so that I aggro them right as I lose the last of my inertia and then zoom off in the other direction. Then the enemy will fly after him right through the rest of my ships and die without firing a shot.

In bigger fights you mostly have to cross your fingers. The inertia issue makes escape difficult. If you lose shields, you'll probably die before you can turn around so you have to fly through the cloud of enemys, and make them turn. Problem is, weapons get more powerful and much more accurate the closer you get so it's a real gamble to put yourself in such close quarters.

Despite all of this, I'm having fun with the game. My characters are finally starting to feel more powerful and battles are less of a roll of the dice. I'm enjoying it enough now that after I finish I'm going to look around for walkthroughs to see if mission paths and pilot options actually do branch and if so I'll probably be down for a second playthrough with a different character build.

I hear Star Wolves 2 is out. Anyone know if it's an improvement?

Well, the box art surely spells out quality.

Seriously though, it offers a larger universe to travel through. Missions seemed rather linear and frankly, the story sucked. I quickly lost interest, but if you enjoyed star wolves 1 there is a good chance you'll like number 2 as well. It felt nearly identical.

I enjoyed it the way I enjoyed Titan Quest. Kinda mindless fun. I don't think I would want another playthrough at this point so if SW2 is more of the same I probably won't partake.

On a side note, found out last night that picking up that pirate deos have meaningful consequences as another teammate will leave later in the game if you have him. Nice that the choice is meaningful, but if I hadn't kept the pirate, I wouldn't have known that I'd gotten anything positive besides the initial 50k. IMO, meaningful consequences only improve the game if you are aware of them. Not that they need to be spoonfed, just have a way for the player to make the connection at some point.

looks... interesting. Am craving a Sci-Fi RPG but that niche can hardly be called saturated. Will check out
