Ok. My account on Photobucket is saturated, I received an e-mail telling me that links to my pictures should be invalidated and replaced with "Photobucket Bandwidth Exceeded" icons. I still see the pictures, but maybe they are in my cache memory or something... Anyway let me know if you don't see them, not that I can do anything about it, but I'm curious. It will be reset on the 16th of february.
I now give a try to Imageshack for my next update. Here goes :
The town of Ishab Na. I highlighted the pawn shop, which is really the thieves guild. The Bushi Dojo is the japanese looking building behind.
We go to the town hall and deliver the letter from the first town. We also get two new quests. One is to kill a dangerous wolf-beast terrorizing the country, the other to go to the Dragonspire caves and deactivate a flamming device there, the bronze-beast.
We also go to all the guilds there and get quests. Fighters have to put the ghost of Gliebott to rest. He's a knight that can be found in Shurugeon castle (D'Soto's castle). Volourn has to find a relic, from the mage Ardibren, also in Shurugeon castle. Ladonna is charged by the clerics guild to kill the naga in the serpent's temple, nothing less.
Vazdru and Vdweller finally get membership of a guild. Their quest is to bring back ten serpents coins each. Serpents coins are carried by the serpents priests. We have only one found on "Tevik Teporn" body. I guess we'll find more in the temple.
After this we go back to the first town, Volourn reports his successful kill to the local wizards guild. He gets a new quest : bring back the "orb of clarity" that is currently held by the gypsies. Let's go and ask them...
The gypsies' leader won't give us the orb, unless we bring her back a staff, held by Kreug, a powerful mage in the serpent's temple. Well, many quests point us to this temple so let's find it.
Here it is I guess. And who is that gloomy figure in front ?
Kol the heretic talks a lot to us. Former priest at the temple he saw Kerah (the angelic being) and believes himself the slayer of the evil pharaoh. Stupid fool ! We are the mortal hope, not he. Anyway he tells us there is a secret room in the temple with Kerah's statue, he even gives us a key to this secret room. He also talks about a secret back entrance to the temple. Then he leaves.
This is the temple's main entrance, and it can't be opened. We'll have to use the back entry.
We walk around the temple to find the back entrance and arrive to that rusty gate. We swim underneath...
This is the back door to the temple.
As soon as we enter the temple we encounter a King Cobra. Not a cool hair metal band from the eighties, but a poisonous nuisance. All the critters in this temple have poisonous attacks.
Those priest that frequently attack you in the corridors of the temple are just as poisonous as the snakes.
In the upper rooms we meet Kreug. We fool him into believing we are humble servants. He gives us a key to some locked doors we saw earlier, so we can do some cleaning.
Behind both locked doors we find an empty cell. Both have an open pit inside. We dive in one of the pits and do some underwater swiming...
We fight a giant Ooze underwater. Yes, it's there, right in front of us.
We surface near an altar with a statuette, we grab it and go back.
Kreug dosn't give a shit about the "cleaning", but he seems to know of the captive thief that we had promised Gorthius we would free. This sacred rite sounds interesting, let's ask him further about it...
He sure doesn't want to talk about it. As soon as he says "do not ask of this again" I do...
He's pissed now and attacks ! We kill him easily, wizards stand no chance in close combat.
Next we arrive in a room full of torturers. One of them drops an interesting key.
It opens a cell that holds the captive thief. After acknowledging that we were sent by Gorthius when we give him back his lockpicks, he talks a lot about what he knows of the temple. Like how worshippers are turned into monkeys that are used to feed the naga. Freaky.
He also tells us of the rite of summoning that makes the naga appear. Sooner or later we'll have to fight that bitch, so we listen intently.
Spider nectar can be made with spider eggs in another part of the temple. Incense can be found somewhere else also, and the serpent wand, since it was not on Kreug body, is probably in the library. We'll find that for sure, but right now we need to go back to town to buy some "cure poison" potions...
That corridor leads us to the main entry that we can now open from the inside. We exit that way...
A little extract from the manual concerning the changing of class, since it's a bit complicated and yet will be done quite some times. For the record, Ladonna is already training as a monk and Jasede as a samurai.
Role Ascension
Click on the Roles Ascension icon to see what elite roles are available to your character.
Each elite role has certain attribute requirements that must be met, then the
guildmaster will send your character upon a quest before initiating him or her into the
secrets of the elite role. A character may only be in training for one elite role at a time.
You may cancel the Role Ascension training for your character at any time by reselecting
it, but the training fee will not be refunded. Once your character has
completed the quest set by the guildmaster and has returned to the guild, he or she will
become a first level character of the new role, retaining all previous Skills, Traits, and
benefits of their former role. Now your character is able to learn additional new skills
and abilities under the new role. Until your character’s level in the new role exceeds the
highest level in any former role, he or she will only gain minimal Hit Points, Attribute
Points, and Skill Points when they advance in level. If your character can learn spells,
they will not be able to learn any spells higher than their present level. If your character
did not learn a skill or ability that was or would have been available to them in their
former role, and the skill or ability is not allowed in their new role, they will no longer
have the ability to learn it. However, once they have acquired a skill or ability, they may
continue using and improving that skill or ability permanently, even if it isn’t normally
available to any of the new roles your character undertakes
It's a lot like D&D former dual-class system. So now, vazdru starts a ninja training, Vdweller since he's a jack of all trades trains as a bard and Kingcomrade starts barbarian training. Here are the associated quests :
Ninja : Open the outer door of castle Shurugeon.
Bard : bring back a book from the temple.
Barbarian : kill 20 enemies.
Volourn trains as a warlock. His quest : bring back a skull and a spider's egg. He already has both, so he is now a level one warlock. Congratulations !
Back to the temple, a nice kitchen.
The giant serpent's head where the summoning has to take place. And it's servants...
A snake incense dispenser. We now have one the three ingredients needed for the summoning.
This is a tricky room. Many levers that can be set up or down, many doors. Some combinations of levers open doors. Hard enough ? No...
You have to pay a serpent's coin in this slot for every try. How about that ? Since we have many coins by now, we'll try first thing... next update.
That's it for this time. See you guys soon.
Special screenshot of the day : running critter !
This little monkey runs around the temple with a little statuette (used later). He runs very fast and is very, very, hard to corner. It was harder to kill him than anyone else in this temple. Yet...
