You are not supposed to beat Chapter 2 pre Bronze. You really should have full party of 35+ by then at the very least. Probably 40

you should mostly defend when he's buffing himself. including backline, when possible. nigga can target squishies with his piercing attack.
first turn - delay with rogue, because he's quite fast, armor break, debuff attack, buff frontline defence. then hide rogue and full attack mode for everyone until he buffs himself. then full defence with occasional healing and sneak attack with rogue if he exposes his weakness. he buffs when he's pretty low on health i think, so after his buff ends it's just 1-2 turns of hitting him.

you will fight his stronger version in second dungeon anyway, when he's with full party of sahuagins and buffs everyone like that so better get used to it.

if you don't want to bother then just collect chests. if you are lucky it can drop high star purple steel equip. current top tier in the game.

I have enough xp to be about level 50 according to the old chart but I'm just failing even getting to bronze boss. This guy in Fordraig, I was pretty much doing what you said but sometimes he just acts like an ass or skill locks up the dudes who use debuff skills or as you say pierced or does this huge slash that just wipes out the party. It doesn't help I'm barely doing 30 damage against him usually. All i find is utter crap. I feel no progression and it feels more like a chore than a game tbh; at least for me. And when events are gone whatever good loot is in there is gone forever. My gaming skills and patience has slipped to MEH! And i am tired of biking or walking 8 miles to & back to a decent spot to download the patch correctly when new content or maintenance patch is needed.

It was interesting at first but now.... slog. I don't usually get frustrated with games but clearly I've been using this game as a life crutch a bit to forget a out my drudgery shit life. Now, this drug fails.

Time to toss it.

The exam are designed for you just to cough up some sheckles and is indeed frustating.

Give everyone Scroll of Rockfall for one, especially your Thieves. Then you can find some site online to get the outline of the map. In general you want to avoid combat before the bosses but if you get caught with your pants down just use the scrolls.

You need a lot of patience waiting monster to be visible and to avoid their route as well

i just made viviana real fast so you can delay any boss first or start fleeing from battle right from the start, like from succubuses in bronze.

then get good ending ffs and start farming equip in second dungeon. few purple pieces will power you up immensely. it drops purple high star iron shields like candies, seriously, most common purple equip in the game. just giving good +def shields to your frontline will make you much sturdier.
