The hype... it is unbearable!

And it really is hype. Look, there's nothing wrong with saying that they wanted to move away from stats and inventory and other shit, but there's no need to insult it, like it's not what makes an RPG or that it's flawed or whatever. Fuck off with that why the fuck does this same company have a game like DA then?

Just be honest and tell us you want to move the series in another direction. Nothing wrong with that. Tell us that you feel the inventory in ME didn't work out and that you feel you can do without it.

Ah but DA was an error , they started development so long ago, maybe before even mass effect 1, i remember first screens floating around while playing nwn1, back then gameplay matters a little more than today.
But they are ashamed of that error, way too much development time for comparable sales , a game way too complex for the crowd(remember they even had to patch difficulty) , thats why dragon age 2 will be more like mass effect with swords, an action intensive 20 hours campaign with hawk as the new shephard.
You will play it and like it cause you wont have any other choices.

ME2 does have branching storyline (not FO level but it's there), an inventory system (just not an old skool one), weapon customization, and planet exploration.

So.. wtf, are on smoking?

Yeah, well, having the barebones doesn't mean the game is deep - it's actually shallow as hell.

On the subject of linearity, I'm sorry but a few inconsequential branches towards the main storyline or even just a few cosmetic tinkering mean shit - it's just trying to emulate that depth and width, with perception tricks even a 10 year old might spot on the first playthrough.
