It really was a good GTA game. I don't understand how people that liked San Andreas and Vice City could dislike GTA IV so much. It's not that different of a game.
It added a cover system, heavy cars, had almost no activities aside from bowling/darts/pool minigames and passive stuff that just involved watching things (tv, performances, in-game internet), and focused too much on "realism" at the expense of fun.

yep, exactly. there was also a jarring effect between the attempt at a more serious and dramatic story, then getting into your car and hearing over the top whacky gay jokes repeatedly on the radio stations

Over there.
I have fond memories of losing myself for hours in the GTA 4 rasta pool hall while doped up on post-surgical pain meds. The game was decent enough, but the bromance dates got REALLY old. Looking forward to MP3.

Remedy's recommendation and Rockstar's past work (LA Noire was developed by another studio) is enough for me. I pre-ordered on Steam which meant I got the first two for free. Preferred the story in the first one, but the gun mechanics were better in 2. Could do without the shitty minigames though, like jumping and running on those red lines and down elongated hallways.
The nightmare levels are quite unsettling and set the game a bit more aside from traditional shooters.

Cover system, bullet time got slowed (hard to believe yes?) and yet consoletard still can't hit, painkillers seem to be healing him to full hp by 1 button press, retarded cinematic takedowns every 3 kills, no noir - some usual ganstah whores Rockstar bullshit. Awesome game.

MP3 has its share of problems, the things you named are not it.

The game is hard and you will die repeatedly, especially if you try to play it like some standard fare cover shooter.

You mean turning Max Payne into a crappy slowass console shooter with cover and moronic killcams and destroying its atmosphere are not problems? Then what are the problems?

The game is hard and you will die repeatedly, especially if you try to play it like some standard fare cover shooter.

So what? I can die a lot in CoDMW too.

The same moronic killcams that were part of MP1&2 ? It has a cover system, you don't need to use it for the vast majority of the game, in fact the most efficient way to play is run&gun and shootdodging.

There is nothing inherent about Max Payne 3 that makes it more or less of a "crappy slowass console shooter" than 1&2.

The moment at 10:12 is very sad
Agreed.

I couldn't believe Max Payne could ever look that lame, although the guy playing it probably had a hand in it. Why would anyone even want to play Max Payne like that? The game also looked piss-easy compared to even the first levels of MP and MP2.

FFS. That fucking brasilian terrorist waited until the consoletard will take his time to aim and kill him.

A combat with 3 guys blindly running at your gun that would've taken 3 seconds on PC to resolve without Max getting shot - took 15 seconds here and he got shot.

Play MP1&2 first and tell me where do you see moronic killcams every 3 fucking kills in it? I'm genuinely interested.

The videos show it isn't.

Yes - if you haven't played originals.
Originals also didn't have retarded unskippable cutscenes every 50 meters because apparently that's the only way for Derping Dog to load the next microscopic bit of the level into the shit amount of RAM.

Seems ok for a tutorial level.

HOW? All I've seen was some noob with gamepad playing it the gamepad way. Grant me some of that wisdom of yours.

Is the killcam itself moronic or the frequency? It happens less once you start facing more enemies.

The videos show it isn't.
No, it doesn't.

I didn't like the amount of cutscenes either, but they are skippable.

And I have played through MP1&2 multiple times.
