Any reason you would want this over Mech Engineer? The only upside I can see is mech-on-mech combat, but the combat itself isn't amazing either.

Mech Engineer has amazing depth that makes up for its combat (and its approach to combat is way more simulationist). MetalMercs doesn't seem to have that edge. But I noticed it has a demo so I will try it, maybe some action will change my mind.

From discord:
**BETA Branch**

Hi folks. I just activated a beta branch for MetalMercs on Steam. Moving forward, this beta version will be where I activate new versions of the game ahead of official roll out. The idea is that the beta branch may have bugs, but should also have the latest fixes. When the beta branch seems stable enough, I'll convert it to the main branch.

SO, if you would like to help test the beta today you can right click on MetalMercs in Steam and select betas and then the beta branch. Right now this beta version only contains a few under-the-hood crash fixes. It doesn't introduce any new gameplay elements at the moment. In future though that will change.

Please also note that if you are a supporter, the beta branch in Steam is DIFFERENT from the playtesting version on Patreon. The Playtesting version is meant to be the latest features which are often well ahead of the Steam roll out. Staggering new features like this is intentional so we can properly test, get feedback, and of course, reward the supporters with some cutting edge gameplay.

As always though, thanks to everyone who's testing out the game and giving feedback. Cheers!
