I'd like Heroes of Might and Magic 3-5 redone in Warhammer 3 Total War. Or rather, I'd like Total War's land battles in HoMM, with everything related to the strategic map staying the same (fight bandit armies, pick up stuff, recruit neutrals, get bonuses for your heroes etc.)

Alternatively, mod Warhammer 3 to use 5-6 smaller scenario maps per faction to tell a story, with heroes and their items transferring between scenarios HoMM-style. It would be more interesting than the "choose your favorite doomstack to paint the map in your color"- endgame that basically every Total War game turns into after like 30 turns of conquering your immediate neighbors.

Used to be an actual thing during early vanilla Warhammer 1. First DLCs featured custom campaigns on a more focused smaller maps. I remember beastmen were having one. But this meant that resources were spent on creating these mini campaigns instead of investing in things that actually mattered, like units so it wasn't popular in the playerbase and was abandoned.
