everything that has ever come out of this developer has always got a resounding "eh..." i never disliked anything from them, but i couldn't get behind games like mass effect and Bioshock.

this on the other hand, looks pretty cool. i only wish another Dark Alliance would come out, i thought that was an outstanding game when i first played it

This 'shit' You were kind enough to refer to looks much more promising than not only Bioware's latest efforts, but also the wide variety of mediocre first person shooters disguised as cRPGs gaming industry has been spewing for quite a while now.

Chris Avellone used to look quite hot, but now he looks very worn out. It might just have been lighting, but still... I wouldn't have had recognized him in that Alpha Protocol dev video.

Edit: Actually, I'll take it back. Just saw the Alpha dev video in HD and Chris still looks good.

The combat looks clearly better than the NWN games from what I can gather of the viedo. That is just first impressions though. I will stay positive despite knowing I will be railed along a story that takes little interest in my character.
