    "This message is awaiting moderator approval": All new users must pass through our moderation queue before they will be able to post normally. Until your account has "passed" your posts will only be visible to yourself (and moderators) until they are approved. I believe that current forum structure is redundant at best: the forum list is poorly organized. I'm not saying "omg, new users can't figure it out!11", of course any remotedly intelligent person will figure things out, but hey it's just ain't nice when the toys are scattered all 'round the room, right?

Now, here's how I see it:

:: RPGCodex forums
:........:: General RPG Discussion
:........:: General MMORPG Discussion
:........:: RPGCodex News Comments
:........:: RPGCodex Content Feedback
:........:: RPGCodex Game Comments
:........:: RPGCodex Site Feedback
:
:
:: Tacticular Cancer Forums
:........:: General Strategy Gaming Discussion
:........:: General Space Sim Gaming
:........:: TCancer News Comments
:........:: TCancer Content Feedback
:........:: TCancer Site Feedback
:
:
:: Tycoon Codex Forums
:........:: City Builders
:........:: Life Sims
:........:: Business Sims
:........:: Tycoon Codex Site Feedback
:........:: Tycoon Codex News Comments
:........:: Tycoon Codex Game Comments
:
:
:: Hosted CRPG Forum Pool
:........:: Age of Decadence
:........:: Prelude to Darkness
:........:: Teodgar and the Alliance with Rome
:
:
:: General Forums
:........:: General Discussion
:........:: General Game Help
:........:: Retardo Land

Note that I did not rename any of the forums, although if such a structure is set, some of the forums should be named appropriately (General forums).

Result: 5 forum sections instead of 8
If a person is interested only in RPGs, he has all the forums he need in one tidy cluster -- or in two, if he's also interested in our CRPG projects.

Bah, you should have butted in AFTER everyone had spoken!

ANyways, let's see what other folks think though.
Besdies, why don't you post your own idea of it here, huh? I mean, why not see what guys think about it first, before actually implementing it.

I like it, it just looks more orderly and that it'd be easier to find the forum I want. As it is, it seems the forums are somewhat haph hazardly implemented. I mean, TCancer should have a general strategy forum in addition to its news forum. The fact I have to go to 2 seperate forums is a bit annoying.

Alternative proposal:

:: RPGCodex forums
:........:: OMG! (news)
:........:: ROFL! (general discussion)
:........:: LOLLERCAUST! (retardo land)
:........:: YO MOMA! (site feedback)
:........:: RUSSIAN GHETTO (what do you think it is?)

This structure makes a lot of sense, especially if you consider what most posts are actually like. Examples:

News: OMG! Oblivi0n g0|\|3 g0|.d! W00T!
General discussion: ROFL! Mecicanz are teh sUck! LOL!
Retardo land: U R GAY LOL! U R GAY LOL! U R TEH GAY LOL! LOL! LOL! LOLLERCAUST!
Site feedback: i \/\/ANT CUST0M AVAtarZ! No. YO MOMA IZ A BIATCH!!

I think it makes sense :cool:

I just use the "View posts since last visit" button and the "Jump to:" box, so I don't really have a problem with the current setup.

See, the problem is that Saint *wants* to change the structure, but of course, his vision of it is completely unlike mine. From what I've heard from him, he's all into making one "general" section with all the rpg, strategy and other general discussion forums -- but I see it as a very inergonomic setup.

I just wanted him to consider my solution, and perhaps share his own with the community and see what everyone thinks about it.

I agree with your suggestions although I think the hosted RPG boards should be close to the RPGCodex forums. It would be simpler that way.

I like the metallix final solution. It all makes sense to me now.

I would just put the site specific forums(Codex News Comments, etc) above the general forums (General RPG, etc) in each section.
