I'm actually close to unlocking fourth difficulty. Cleared first region and then just did duel quests. Equip is ~170+10 except fists +14 and shoes which i barely leveled at all because they just don't drop.

Man you must have played pretty much non-stop. I've put over 60 hours in and am just doing Mausoleum of Evil in the first playthrough. Now I've unlocked the Mystic Arts for both Switchglaive and Splitstaff, starting to feel like I am getting pretty gud with my stance switching. The combat really is fantastic, I love how they put such a high skill ceiling in it. You can get by without using Ki Flux and stance switching at first, but when you get them down you can really chain some awesome moves together, especially when you combine them with the Yokai moves.

Maybe it is Nioh 1.5, but the combat is strong enough carry it.

I've spent almost 3 weeks playing daily for first playthrough. Sometimes until morning. Thing is once you finish first it's much faster - you just need to finish some missions to unlock next difficulty, don't need to do everything again. Only one mission is mandatory and it's hardest part of unlocking next dream.

I did it, after 20 + tries toshimitsu is DEAD. Finally a boss deserving this title. At first i tought it was unfair (i still think some of his attacks are, the 2 ones with super armor) but after getting my *** raped several times i beat this bastard using barrier, sloth and life sealing talismans. I only had 4 elisirs because i refused to go on without beating this side quest. Huge amount of fun with this challenge. It reminded me of Muneshige in the first game

I'm sitting before boss final boss to unlock 4th difficulty. He rapes me hard but i don't want to flee mission because it would mean crawling it again from the start.

Killed him. Unlocked dream of the wise and lots of new stuff. I will try to get some orange equip in first region but i'm actually tired now. I'm too old for this shit.
Maybe will go back to second difficulty and finish unfinished missions for rewards with new weapon.
Actually first thing i did after finishing boss - went to first difficulty, first region, first mission, unequipped weapon and punched everyone to death. Feeling slightly better.

All 3 bosses in Dawn were a bit disappointing.
Especially Kasha.
She looked so cool with her spinning wheels and shining boobs, but died before draining half of my elixirs.

I would have thought that tatenashi armor is overpowered I over-leveled this area, if a fucking spearman-skelly would not kill me in 3 pokes if I was not paying attention.

Dream of the Samurai is pretty much a tutorial until you reach the DLCs. Then it's nonstop Team Ninja hitting you in the dick with a hammer.

Get ready for skeleton pokes to oneshot in later difficulties :argh:

Hey, i have 7k hp from stuffing all single graces items on me! I'm 2-shot! For skeleton.

Btw i guess it's time to start working on armor look. Right now my girl looks like proper murderhobo. Mostly because of my new dirty white pants.

Bloody hell. 130 hours in Nioh 1 and 65 in Nioh 2 and I only just discovered the quality 'Untouched Onmyo XX%' means the chance for your Onmyo magic not to be used up when cast. I always thought it gave you a damage boost if you didn't use any Onmyo, and thus was pretty useless!

There are some cool sets later utilizing onmyo and ninjutsu. Even fucking shurikens can be fun.

Fucking shurikens does sound like the kind of masochistic degeneracy a fan of Nioh would enjoy tbh. I always wondered why most of them have a little hole in the middle...

There's a button you can press that explains what all the item effects in the inventory screen.

Yes, I just never bothered looking at that one because to me it was obvious that 'Untouched Onmyo 3.9%' meant you had a 3.9% damage boost if you didn't touch any of your Onmyo. Sounds bonkers, but I thought it was maybe used in a pure melee build to give them an incentive to not use any magic. I LOL at that now, but I thought it made perfect sense. If it'd said 'free Onmyo 3.9%' then I'd have realised what it was doing. How's the saying go? Every day's a school day.

"Untouched ammo" made sense to you?

Well of course it's obvious NOW lol. So many items I've passed over because they've got this weird property that I thought was pretty useless. Fuck me, I feel like a character in an Adam Sandler film.

So heavy armor is completely not viable past the Dream of the Samurai?
What's the point of defense and toughness if you can't survive a hit from the lowliest of enemies?

I worded that poorly. Heavy armor is fine until the higher levels of the depths, but that isn't something to worry about until way later.
