Jeremy Soule isn't that bad. His music for NWN was pretty lackluster, but I like some of the stuff for the other games he's composed for. As a whole, most of the soundtracks can be "eh," though. Sound and music is a big thing for me in games. It can almost make or break a game for me.

Completely agree. Maybe he finally reached cRPG composing burnout with NWN. He definately has done better.

More idiocy. His NWN music was the best he ever made.

As a whole, I mean. I liked some of it. Mainly, the forest music and a couple others, but the rest I really just couldn't find myself remembering. I've heard better, in my opinion, though.

The GW collector's edition was a great package, mostly due to the soundtrack and the great book of concept art. It's the only collector's edition I've ever regretted not buying, once I saw it.

As for Soule, I think the original Icewind Dale score may have been his best work. I enjoyed the Morrowind score much more than NWN, Oblivion, or GW. He also gets credit in my book for a KotOR soundtrack that effectively captures the musical feel of Star Wars.

His KOTOR soundtrack captures the feel of NWN because they sound almost the same. The pieces in KOTOR that sound like Star Wars are the John Williams pieces lifted from the movies.

Jeremy Soule sucks. He does not express anything through his music.

Morrowind soundtrack was good. Most of the Guild Wars (original campaign) is VERY good.

Jeremy Soule is extremely far from being a bad or even a boring composer. Some of the most beautiful and expressive music I've ever met in games belongs to him. For instance, the main theme or 'Eastheaven in Peace' in Icewind Dale. I wouldn't imply that he has lost his talent either. His soundtrack to Oblivion seems absolutely satisfactory to me, especially the quiet, relaxing melodies.

The percentage of truly outstanding soundtracks composed by Jeremy Soule is probably lower than that of Michael Hoenig or Mark Morgan, but that's only because he's so prolific.

P.S. As for the glow, why the fuss? I'm sure it's optional.
