Yeah, don't spoil everything 2 years (or sth) before the game's release. Or is it going to be released earlier?

Let me guess... You are send out to find the heir to the throne now that the emperor is dead.
Later it is revealed that you are the only possible hope, and thus take the place of the new emperor. I wish Rpg companies would try more original story ideas.
The game's not out yet, and I already find the basic story lacking.
I don't play graphics.

PS. Don't tell me to read a book if I want story. I do.
My point is games with shitty storylines.

Remember Betrayal at Krondor, we need to see something like that.

You obviously don't get too many press releases sent your way. Shocking. :)
I think that he's only saying that he would cut that fragment from the newspost, not that it's uncustomary for a press release to include it.
Yep, I was just teasing Saint who cut 4 paragraphs out of my Bloodlines post.

I hope that there's some super secret twist to the storyline. I didn't much like Morrowind's simple, straight forward 'you are the reincarnation of a god' storyline that's revealed the moment you start the game, and doesn't get any more complicated than that.

Behind you.
How much of a sekret plot could it be if they told us the critical part of it with the emperor being dead, the gates of hell open?

You know there is going to be a goofy prophesy and ghost/old man/goofy god involved too.

It's like a requirement in all their games.

You're actually the dead Emperor, but your grandmother thrust you into a time tunnel which left you amnesiac, and now you're trying to kill yourself and making sure you don't die at the same time. The portals are just a bonus.

Dead Emperor comes back from the Oblivion, all evil, undead, and in black, and tells you that he's your father?

You're the son of a beggar but said to be the demon killer and the emperor's ghost with the help of a god aid you on your quest, but first you must find an old wise man to be your mentor to teach you to destroy the demons.

The old man part certainly wont be surprising, this is more and more like 'Elder Scrolls 4: We're trying to be like Gothic'

I doubt Oblivion's going to go with the 'you are actually the Emperor's son' plot. It isn't typical for TES and doesn't make sense given that you're locked in prison and meet the Emperor by accident.

As for being the prophesised hero in Morrowind, if you actually pay attention then there's a serious credibility issue on the prophesy, and just fulfilling the conditions of the prophesy doesn't make you the reincarnated hero - it's up to you to decide if you think you are. Plus you can always bypass the main quest and still complete the game if you want.
