Omg soooo dope!!! Since she created Rekke and most of (maybe even all of) the culture of Yezuha (which everyone knows is maybe where the 3rd Pillars of Eternity could be set, sis) she could be in charge of Pillars of Eternity 3! Sooo awesome!!!!!!

Realistically, what are the chances of POE 3 happening?

Poe3 is on the go very much.

If anything, Microsoft would want to achieve success of Divinity Original Sin 2.
I'd say Poe3 is going on that road. That means more open-ended world and multiplayer.

Such a disagree! I think inXile will be doing the multiplayer Divinity Original Sin 2 games (especially since it would be not fantasy so can totally distinguish itself more from those games)! I think Obsidian will go the Bethsoft route of Fallout/Skyrim since they already have the Outer Worlds and adapt Pillars of Eternity III to first person!

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I think that if Obsidian ever make a first person Pillars of Eternity 3, it probably won't be called "Pillars of Eternity 3".

I also think that Josh Sawyer won't work on a third Pillars of Eternity game of any kind (although he might maintain oversight over its lore and setting).

Quite high. It's a quite small budget game for Microsoft and then they can finish the trilogy. The Watchers' story isn't over and people at Obsidian want to make that game.
Hell, they even added turn based mode into Deadfire. They are gonna make the 3rd one having both mechanics to boost the sales.

Totally yeah, I think it'll have a subtitle instead of a 3 if it changes to be like The Outer Worlds! I also think the new Queen Woedica content they added
which implies Woedica is going to make a new champion princess is a way for the game to maybe do a time skip and The Watcher gets rebirthed like Thaos and goes on more adventures but still be so accessible for new players!

But consumers don't want a PoE3. Hopefully Microsoft will be smart enough to realize that.

Do you just only want Marvel movies too? (Like I mean I ❤️ the Marvel movies but it's also nice to have films for specific audiences like To All The Boys I've Loved Before too). Pillars II is such a total fantasy adventure, and has such high cult status, and the setting is waaay more exciting than a Crackdown 3 or Assassin's Creed!

I do think Microsoft want Obsidian to make a Skyrim-a-like exclusive for their console/OS, but I hesitate to think it would be PoE related. I feel like they'd want a big new IP, not to turn a relatively niche IP into something else. Though it worked for Fallout, so WTF do I know. Maybe it could be PoE related but not PoE3.

Fallout kinda proves you wrong, so yeah. However I think the PoE setting needs a little bit more epicness to translate well to a mainstream console title. Although The Elder Scrolls has never been epic and that sold well, so what do I know?

Omg I can imagine the marketing!!! "Just like how Fallout totally evolved from top down and isometric into a first person shooter, Pillars of Eternity is taking that same leap!!!" said Josh Sawyer the cute director of Pillars of Eternity III

it's not like poe 1 and 2 are some sort of sacred cows, or even exemplary of their genre.

frankly a Bethesda-clone "you can climb that mountain" game using the PoE world sounds more interesting to me than a possible PoE 3.
