Probably gonna add orchestra at 3.7. I'd personally like some form of new game + since I have to play the damn thing 7 times.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
I really hope they hit the $3.5m stretch goal before time runs out. It would be a shame to miss out on a second big city by a few thousand bucks.

My money is on your stronghold being the centre of your own town that gets inhabitants as it develops. :troll:

Would be great if the game simply changes genres in mid-game and turns into a full scale fortress siege simulator like Stronghold, or a 4X fortress management game.

I would love a game to just become a different genre in the middle

Maybe they won't go that far, but remember SoZ?

if there is money in their bank i'd be down for some coastal piracy and island exploration...nothing like a bit of seafaring to change up the mood of a game.

No way. I mean NO WAY a maintenance option could have improved quality of the game. I can't even understand what you are basing this on. As far as I see it the Thing was done well except for time management + consequences which where irrelevant. The game has so many other issues that correcting this one thing would have changed nothing.

Well, the lore already stresses the importance of exploration and seafaring, so we might just have that...

I don't understand what exactly do they mean by sea travel? How would it be implemented, if it means more than teleport from point A on mainland to point B on an island.

Project: Eternity Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
Its allready at 3.46 million. Going to get 3.7 easily this way.

I honestly hope they don't announce another stretch goal. They better use the extra money to increase the quality and polish of the game rather then implement some stupid biodrone gimmick.
On one hand, you are right, they shouldn't overpromise themselves even more. But...I don't know, a new stretch goal could bring in another few hundred thousand dollars, which is always good. They should promise something which is not too much work yet has a huge appael.

Hopefully like this?

Besides, the CYOA aspect they talked about earlier could certainly be used in that case, that and some interspersed monster attacks obviously.

Darren actually was saying in the KS comments that if he thought he could get away with it, he would make a "Q&A and Testing" focused stretched goal.

Guys, adding stuff like sailing is one of the worst things that could happen to a project of this scope. It already promises fucktonnes, and adding sailing as a game mechanic would only burden them even more.

What is better - one, great focused game, or a mish-mash of random ideas which sound cool on paper but there's no way to string them together?

But is overland map travel confirmed yet?

No. And if they go realistic about sailing, it will be more like the Gaelan Bayle episode in BG2. Ie you wouldn't participate in the sailing per se, but would be able to influence the outcome of the whole venture by some CYOA mechanics. And of course you'd get to fight the kraken or whatever...

Well, that would be encouraging. For me, at least.

That's where I disagree. The process matters more. I believe you should get more xp if you talk down the guy in FO1 who takes the hostage and not just kill him. I think you should get more xp for killing the master than trying to reason with that retart.

You get the most xp for talking the guy down and then shooting him. That's the problem. I never played PnP, but I take it that people LARP and the DM will have consequences for using the diplomatic approach and then killing everyone. Putting interesting contingencies for every encounter for computer games is much, much harder. So you tend to be left with these solutions where the best solution is solve the quest using diplomacy, then kill the people for the extra reward.

Plus, sometimes, certain encounters aren't actually quests. How do you deal with that?

Like Deus Ex did?

I'm not feeling the concept artist at all. Sagani looks terrible, just like all the other characters. I guess the design is.. ok? At least it's minimalistic and not overly accessorized, but it still comes out as something horribly dull to look at. They don't inspire or excite and look more like pictures someone from Deviant Art drew up.
They SO need that Justin Sweet $3.75m stretch goal.

Well, if you go the CYOA route you can "implement" whatever the hell you want.
