Hmm... I did solo run of IWD2 and while I gained not so much XP from killling single monster since it was not divided amongst 6 members I levelled fast enough to deal with encounters.
What was the character you used for your solo run? I tried to solo the game at first, but it was just too brutal. The game kept throwing at me huge number of enemies - much more then a full 6 character party would ever fight because of its broken scaling system. I finally settled for a two character party and got quite far before giving up in disgust.

But anyway, I'm still against scaling of xp rewards by character level. I agree that an experienced fighter should not get as much from fighting weaker opponents compared to an inexperienced one, but there is already a much more elegant way to ensure that - increase of the amount of experience points needed to achieve the next level. An experienced high level fighter would need much more experience to get to the next level and will need to defeat many, many weaker opponents to do so. The low level fighter will on the other hand level-up quickly even by fighting just those weaker opponents. This is already so in DnD and similar systems and further scaling of experience you get by defeating enemies is unnecessary balancing that just complicates things and gives the player the feeling that he is being punished for doing too well.

STOP calling it BiK.

THAT WAS A TURN BASED GAME.

Have you guys really played all these games or just pretend to do that??!!!

Turn-based is just a mechanic used to reflect certain element of the game. It's not as important as you might think it is. For instance, health/stamina system doesn't change all much whether the combat is RTwP or TB.

Also, it's BaK.
Yeah yeah. BaK
BiA and BaK

Always mix the preposition up.

And not Turn based is NOT just a mechanic (it is a mechanic) and it alters the game-play almost completely.

You know what; I don't want to discuss this with a person who does not realize that BaK did not have regen. So sorry. I am not continuing this discussion.

Sorry Shrek, but you are simply incapable of arguing your case. Maybe you have a point but you cannot get the idea across. And sadly, this is not th fist time when you refuse to give your arguments and just leave the sandbox with the toys.

Read all the previous threads. All the arguments I have already made and then come argue with me. Okay? Stop projecting your in-capabilities on me.

I have, and they all boil down to: TB is TB, whereas RTwP is shit. Case closed, move along. The last time I gave you arguments you brushed them off by sending me to talk to Black Cat.

Honestly, is there that much of a difference between when you leave your character to do nothing for 10 seconds so he starts to recover stamina, and when you click a button in TB game that he also regains stamina?

I've never understood the mentality that CRPGs should reward bonus XP for player ingenuity. It's an RPG. The rewards are for your character, not for you. You should do what comes naturally to your character.

This is the same reason we real RPG fans don't like the trend toward FPS elements in CRPGs -- because that relies on PLAYER abilities rather than character abilities.

I'm not feeling the concept artist at all. Sagani looks terrible, just like all the other characters. I guess the design is.. ok? At least it's minimalistic and not overly accessorized, but it still comes out as something horribly dull to look at. They don't inspire or excite and look more like pictures someone from Deviant Art drew up.

Looks like you can't handle the REAL.

REAL? This is what I would call REAL:

The P:E character concept art is frankly uninspiring, the only part of the campaign that I feel is a little bit below par. But of course it's probably they have to do everything in a hurry, with the Kickstarter and all, they get one or two shots at it and have to put it up for the update. The dungeon picture is pretty cool though.

Shame is, little girl's specialty is creating strange creatures and humanoids.
She should have been designing the various monsters, not the main characters... M:

I hope after the kickstarter project ends, the BioBeth-retards will leave the obsidian forums, because right now it is unbearable. I just cant spend more than a few minutes on it, because I fear I'm going into a mass-murderer rage. So many stupid people, so many made up accusations, so many butthurt. It hurts man, it really hurts.

Doesn't this look a bit much like Dragon Age?

Why haven't they mentioned a furry race yet? Easy $200K to be made there.

With all the new classes there won't be a companion per class, right? I've never liked that as you miss out on classes in a single play-through.
That's not from PE, it's from another canceled project.

They're holding on to the orlans and aumaua until their designs are finalized.

There are eight companions and 11 classes, the adventurer's hall is there if you want to see how the others play.

Look retarded shit. I made no such claim or even pretended to know best.

I have never said anything like TB > RTwP. In fact I have said quite the contrary. Now the person I am arguing with says that he knows what I have written and makes retarded claims based on that (or like BiK had regen) then I do not believe I should be wasting time arguing with them. That is at least a sensible thing to do.

Wow, easy there, you're so butthurt you quoted the wrong post...

And i'm not taking sides, it's just that you generally behave as if you were God's gift to the Codex.

There will be another stretch goal. :) -Darren
:bounce:
So here's what sounds like the top wants: - A character like Boo - Town built outside of stronghold - Bard class (we have chanters though, but maybe people want the instrument part?) - Another class - New game + (but we have the three [stackable too!] difficulty modes?) - Sea travel (I liked this one) What else that wouldn't be a ton of new work? :) -Darren

Just stop referring to your previous posts as if they were the gospel, and stop pontificating like the professor you've never been. Should make things better for everyone, you included. ;)

I am not and I do not behave that way. It is your low self esteem reflecting that is all.

:hmmm:

Yes, your behaviour clearly indicates this is the case.

Its allready at 3.46 million. Going to get 3.7 easily this way.

I honestly hope they don't announce another stretch goal. They better use the extra money to increase the quality and polish of the game rather then implement some stupid biodrone gimmick.
