You mean he's not?

But.. but.. but he's PATRICK STEWART!

Well he can't waste all his time doing "dragon crap". He's got important work on American Dad to prepare for.

If they did do that, I'd pay to get the game. Sort of like Shatner's one man Julius Caesar where he stabs himself in the back.

That's funny. I'm tired of reading the bitching.

All they say is to be expected. It's a cool effect. They would be marketing fuckknobs if they didn't flash it and Patrick Stewart around like whores when the ships come home.

I could make the voice for all the male Dunmer, just like they did it in teh prequel.

Wasn't it 'Dumner', pronounced in a nauseating rotten-apple accent as 'Dumb-nurrrr'?
Perhaps it was just my negative opinion of the game tuning my ears.

Actually, it doesn't bother me to hear what voice actors you guys are getting to do this, but hearing Patrick Stewart over and over again gets a little old.

Oh, I was referring to the soil erosion thing.

As far as voices go, Lynda's the only "household name" type of actress who's voicing an entire race's gender -- the female Nords. Patrick Stewart is just the voice of the Emperor, and there are a couple other famous folks we'll be announcing later who voice other specific characters. But all of the other races & genders are voiced by local voice actors, some of whom we've used in the past. They do a great job.

It seems BS regards having voice talent that varies between sounding like George Costanza
and Fran Drescher from "The Nanny" in a medieval fantasy game as being a 'great job'.

Actually yours is the very first complaint I've ever read about the voice acting in Morrowind.

Incredible. For a game set in the present/future it'd be more apt - nothing
shatters the illusion of 'medievia' more than an anachronistic accent. I think
Peter Jackson had the right idea by having an accent-neutral cast in LOTR.

Perhaps, although while TES games have a medieval look & feel in some ways (Oblivion moreso than the very alien Morrowind), the world is not Earth, and the lore is not based any one particular mythology or Earthbound history, so I'm not sure "anachronism" is apropos.

Wait, how can an accent be anachronistic? I mean, you know somehow that the English accent has changed in the last 400 years? Were you there?

They also didn't have an "accent neutral" cast for LoTR. I'm sure Southerner's and Englishmen thought the characters had a thick North American accent, because no one was pronouncing words the way they would!

..and that's why Kevin Costner really made the film "Prince of Thieves" such a success.

I'm from britain originally - the accents sounded neutral. They set the tone
and reflected the atmosphere of the story. The cast was was full of Kiwis,
Aussies, Brits and Merkins yet they managed to work together in unison.

Also, the 'lore' of LOTR is 'not based on any one particular mythology or
Earthbound history' either, yet they don't sound like they're chugging a
beer whilst watching the Superbowl.

It's odd to me that they would bring in the likes of Patrick Steward to voice a character that dies (as far as I can tell) quite early in the game. But whatever.

Erm....

Just wondering, are you using the same guy/girl for wood elves?

I don't know, I'm not involved in any of that enough to know all the specifics.
