Rance will be on the book, together with many fan-translated games, in a special section at the end. I didn't list them yet because I'm still figuring out how much space to give them.

You will give Sengoku Rance two full pages to properly honor it, as it well deserves... or die.

SAVE THIS CHARACTER? NO.
Codex 2013 Codex 2014 PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Serpent in the Staglands Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera BattleTech I'm very into cock and ball torture
What game is Tim reviewing?
Star Control 2, his favorite RPG ever.

:bounce::bounce::bounce:

I could probably write Dark Omen if no one else is interested. What were you thinking of from an RPG player's perspective? I suppose there's light C+C with the mission structure, and optional units/artefacts/unit xp (SOTHR does all this better though)
(and actually, the main quest is about seeking out the magical mcguffins needed to destroy the big bad (and there are elves and dwarves, so maybe DO is more of an rpg than I thought.))
Anything in particular you'd want highlighted?

Could we, like, avoid including everything that vaguely smacks of RPG? I mean, sure, okay, JA2 - and I will never call that an RPG - I can see. I can even see DX, and SS2, if less so. But Dark Omen? C'mon man. What next, Shadows over Mystara?

Can you do a 2-page review of both SOHH and Dark Omen together, mentioning the C&C, weigth of character's death and all that? I also want to mention the fan-made campaigns, if we manage to fit an infobox on that...

I actually do have it on my "to consider" list, and will include if there's enough space. I think it's more of a RPG that many other games in the list.

The important question is, which tasteful scenes will be featured in the screenshots?

No problem! I'll have to rush through some of the more recent mods, I haven't played through any of the SP fan stuff since ~2008.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Witchaven was mediocre at best. I really couldn't play it to much. If I wanted to put fpp game with some rpg feeling it would be Hexen.
Two Worlds was very nice, for a Gothic clone. The potato text "Masz mięśnie niczym pięty bociana" still makes me laugh.

I looked on my old Elvira 1 and 2 retro-review. It has almost 1500 words, but it's probably to autistic for the rpg compedium that wan't to sell the game . We could put a big picture and it would sell suffice :smug:. I'll try it to rebuild it and make it more friendly. It's in polish though so I can bet there will be needed proofreading.

You write in potato and then translate? O.o

I write only in polish, because it's more easier for me and I can put some inside jokes that can be easily understanded. I'll make it a two step process, it will be good for me :).

once you're done send it to me and i can do the translatungs

because judging by the bolded parts i think it might be a better idea :troll:

felipepepe would it be appropriate for someone who is not deeply passionate about Fallout 1 and 2 to write about Fallout 3? It's one of the only entries on the list I feel qualified enough to write about, but my experience with the prequels is not as extensive as most around here.

Edit: I suppose I could take a stab at ME2 or 3 instead.

Edit 2: Actually nevermind. I can't think of anything positive to say about either of those that wouldn't come across as sarcastic... "ME2 had cover-based shooting in spades."

I thought the purpose of the book was to wax nostalgic about our favorite past time, not give balanced reviews.

Please only submit a review if you really like the game. That doesn’t mean you have to be a blind fanboy, but I want passionate reviews.
Corwin likes Risen and is always passionate ;)
But he tells you some flaws, too.

I'll probably write Geneforge myself, I really like that game. And I thank Corwin for the reviews, but I'll keep them as backup for now, been less than a week since I released the list.

My ideal F3 reviewer knows about F1 and 2, but is not a die-hard fan / didn't get into them, and had fun with F3 while knowing it's not perfect and that aret mods that make it better. How well you fit? ;)

let's say instead of 50/50 balanced, they should be 80/20.

Does somebody know how to contact Scorpia? I would love her to review Ultima IV again, or The Magic Candle.

Or even Realms of Arkania :troll:

Quarex from SA will review Prophecy and maybe Tunnels & Trolls. Captain Rufus from SA will review Ultima I and Defender of the Crown. Maybe Apshai and Telengard too.

If you played F1, liked F3 and tried out the mods, it's enough for me. ;)

Great! Thanks for posting it there. :D

Quarex emailed me already, he seems like a nice guy. Shame I can't even see the thread... you're making me consider buying a SA account...

You don't really need to. I posted about in the oldschool RPG thread and there's been like a couple of people who took some interest in the project. I can handle them myself. ;)
