I’m not really into WoD but isn’t Hunter the Reckoning basically just that?Fuck WoD and gay vampires, only way to make it cool is to let us roleplay vampire hunters and kill them all.

I would like to see an Owlcat tacticool game, none of that storyfag crap, just fully focused on build autism and combat.I don’t like the sound of Owlcat working on non rpg games. It makes me scared that they’re going to make a full game out of one of their terrible minigames. Just think a full game of nothing but crusader mode from WOTR.
I’m coping,Is there any chance of making a World of Darkness Game?No one with money wants to fund this crap. The idea sounds exciting, but an opportunity must arise for that to happen.
But why? Do they actually believe in the curse or smth?
Does Paradox ask for too much?
Owlcat’s WoD game would sell more than their other titles at least. Wouldn’t it?
I speak this from a place of love, as I was hardcore into World of Darkness, from 1st through Revised Edition, and even on into the reboot.
Despite its role in RPG history it suffers from several issues that keep it out of regular discussion:
1) Its not that great a system. For a game that supposedly changed RPGs' focus toward telling deep stories, it sure was dice heavy. As more books came out, so did power creep, power gamers, and complicated scenarios (that often dragged combat out). That, plus for a series of games set in the same universe, the imbalance between different lines (or supplements) was ridiculous. There are far better systems to tell these types of stories than WoD.
2) The tropes are outdated. Not just the '90s gothic punk scene in general, which most of us who participated are now in our 40s and 50s. I'm talking so much of the cultural and ethnic stereotypes that littered the works. While later editions tried to rewrite, explain off, or erase some of that, you just can't get rid of entire splats (or even lines) based off generic and offensive clichés. The game did not age well and its roots are very much based in the mindset of that era and generation.
3) Speaking of which, the game's attempts to update itself for modern audiences have been hindered by people who never outgrew those mindsets. I won't spell everything out, but most of the WoD posts around here bring up the questionable (at best) behavior of everyone from the original creator to the last attempts at development and writing. It's hard to stan a game that continued to be run by aging edgelords trying to one-up each other on how offensive and insensitive they can be.
Chronicles of Darkness (aka "New" World of Darkness) is your better bet, as its system has been streamlined (even though it can still be crunchy at times), there's better balance between the lines (although not perfect), and overall it's more a product of the 21st century. It's still got issues having initially been written before sensitivity writers were a thing (e.g. one bloodline in the back of the Vampire book), but it is much better overall.

WoD games never sold well.
With the weeb game they're publishing maybe they want to leverage that into an L5r game?So we know that:
1. They have 4 projects in work
2. From this interview, it seems none of them are original IP (as they said they are dreaming of one like DOS)
3. At least one will use UE.
4. At least one (prolly the one using UE) is CRPG and higher production value. Their BG3 Killer so to speak
5. It also implies that not all of them are CRPG (as they are saying CRPG genre is present). What genre will it be? Easy one to breach into is probably soldier level tacticool stuff as they have similar baseline to RPGs (and a lot of them are hybrids). Maybe actiony games? ARPG?
From the setting:
1. Not Paizo's (PF/SF)
2. Not Shadowrun
3. Not WoD
4. Not Warhammer Fantasy
5. Maybe not even fantasy (as they are saying people in the team would like to come back to it)
What setting left there is to license? Another 40k? D&D based setting using 5e?
RT DLC:
1. The last DLC companion is male and bisexual, closing the loop that there is no gay romance in base RT.
2. They are evaluating future DLC for RT as well based on recent survey.
3. Most DLC will be integrated to maingame content as it seems to be what players preferred from WotR and surveys.
4. People hate Owlcat Puzzles lmao
Wait where does V Rising factor into this? Isn't that like a survival game?> V rising
5 millions sold.
>WotR & RT combined
~2.5 millions sold.
WoD games never sold well.

Incompetence mixed with faggotry.

Clearly the market likes vampires.
Clearly there is a gap eagerly waiting to be filled.
How can a WoD rpg be seen as a big risk?
Paradox is sick of it, so the rights wouldn’t be that expensive.
Add some sexy bitches for the romancing department, one or two gay options for the good measure, don’t get lost in The Message, tell an emotional story like CDPR games, brand it as a dark and gritty open world for edgy retards and become super rich.
Making an actual good vamp RPG is another topic but for financial success,
It’s really that simple. It really is.

Can’t imagine the game ever being fully balanced with 5 dogs running around. Excited to see what Owlcat have in mind. The new DLC is shaping up to be really good. Also safe to assume one of the archtypes or the companion himself going to have a Dog.RT DLC:
