That's why people are asking for buffing map-boss drops because otherwise they would be skipped after killing them once for atlas completion. Because they are all an offscreen blip kill anyway. Wait, that doesn't make any sense does it?The shock nerf to vinktars won't matter, everything but guardian tier bosses is an offscreen blip kill anyways
You're right, you don't need much mana leech to sustain most spells. Thankfully there is plenty of mana-leech for non-attack builds available... Except there isn't. There is exactly three sources of mana-leech for spellcasters in the entire game. Vinktars, Bereks Grip and the boot enchant. Wanna guess which of those don't work against bosses, and which one just got the mana-leech removed? The options I listed are the only ones available to any spellcaster out there, and all of them make you lose either multiple passive points, a flask-slot, a curse, suffixes on 2+ items for mana-regen or a combination of those. On any type of content for which Vinktars was stupidly op, this actually matters.Mana leech is also relatively trivial for 99% of builds since you need like .0001% leech to have more mana than you'll ever spend with your 5 billion dps build.
I do remember. I also remember an entire League being dominated by Champions perma fortify, an entire league being dominated by incinerate, multiple leagues dominated by Vaal Spark/Fireball/Molten Shell, multiple leagues dominated by bladefall/bladevortex, blah blah blah. Oh, don't forget an entire league being dominated by ES, so they had to nerf it hard, and the following leagues being dominated by life-builds so they had to nerf every life-node and buffed ES again. Most if not all of those could have been predicted. But another thing would've just taken its place anyway, so who the fuck cares. There has never been a time in this game where op stuff got changed mid-league unless it was abusing unintended game-mechanics, GGG isn't prone to taking away peoples toys when they just got them.I mean, am I the only one that remembers an entire league being basically dominated by a single fucking ring? 100% bleed and poison chance, yeah, that seems fucking balanced. GJ team. Way to display your superior knowledge of game mechanics.
What did however happen, and this is the real problem, is that GGG for some reason decided to apply less severe nerfs ever since Ascendancy came out, leading to some builds/mechanics dominating multiple leagues. Voidheart, out of all the op stuff over the years, lasted for a single league. It wasn't even the most broken item of the league, with RotC and Doomfletch Prism taking the cake there. I'm not counting Signal Fire because while it is a retarded item, it's mostly due to double-dipping. Voidheart, for the same reason, was only ridiculously good due to double-dipping. And we knew that wasn't gonna go away until 3.0, even though they already acknowledged it had become a problem in 2.4. If you want to be mad at GGG, be mad about this general attitude towards not nerfing hard enough, so this shit doesn't continue after 3.0.
It already was an issue 4 years ago, which is why they nerfed ele prolif and puncture-traps into oblivion with Awakening. That was a bandaid fix though, and with the release of poison, elemental conflux and the reintroduction of bleed for any physical build, these issues resurfaced. By that point they already knew they were gonna fix double-dipping with 3.0, which sadly was still over 18months away, so all they did patch after patch was yanking the weed wherever it showed up.or this whole double dipping thing never would have been an issue
However this has very little to do with an inability to grasp the math, but the big decision at the top to not fix double-dipping until 3.0.
Or, you know, it could just be that there is more than those two options. Unless they somehow fuck up the scaling of the base-damage of the skill, there is little to no chance that this ability is gonna be broken. It's an attack/channeling/spell hybrid, scaling the damage in a meaningful way is gonna be a challenge. You will probably do a full lightning conversion, try to increase your attack- and movespeed as much as possible to clear in a decent time, but have to do enough damage to oneshot packs and rares with a single cast since otherwise you will have to backtrack to finish up mobs, and then charge towards the next pack again, which results in extremely clunky gameplay.be insanely OP and give retarded clearspeed, or be utterly useless and just tickle everything beyond baby maps
CWC is pretty bad for clearing maps quickly due to the 0.35sec icd, and only ever provided great DPS on bosses. It will however be able to actually clear maps by itself, compared to something like Flamedash or Whirling Blades, so on your scale of 1 to 2, with 1 being elemental hit and 2 being necro support, I don't know where exactly you would put a build that basically ticks the boxes "has a movement skill" and "can clear maps".
